Please Rescue Me From "Babboon Butt"

you probably are getting tired of hearing about how uncomfortable i find my bolstered sport seats. the seat was a minor annoyance at first, but i think the poor fit is triggering bursitis in my hip. one of the lovely little annoyances as you approach 50.

as a result, my **** turns red and begins to throb. it's like i have an enormous red christmas light under my trousers, set to blink from the backside view. perhaps i can suspend myself from the ceiling to help my family capture the yuletide spirit?

okay, i'm exaggerating about the red pulsating light. but not about the discomfort.

what i'm looking for is a temporary fix. i'm hoping there is a tailor-made pad to fill the gap between the bolsters to make the seat roughly flat. it is a very firm seat and will therefore require a firm pad. i've tried household pillows. they don't work.

there are lots of things to admire about our simian relatives, but a bright red **** is not one of 'em. any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

Your probably going to have to spend a few more $$$.

Only suggestion I have is for you to go to a custom upholstery shop and have them shape the seat to your comfort zone.

More pad, different pad and/or a full change of the seat design.

Or you could find a custom seat from recaro or sparco and have it installed, airbags and all the extra will be an issue.

Good luck.

Sorry, I couldn't help it

Perhaps this would help?

I don't have that problem and have not tried it but it looks promising - I thought that site might help anyways. Good luck BB

I don't believe it - only two replies in the thread, and someone STILL beat me to the "Anti Monkey-Butt Powder" joke.

I gotta check the threads more often...

And I'd do it again too, un-ape-pologetically

Weird I find the seats quite comfortable. They are a pretty tight fit so the wallet in the back pocket is a no no.

I was just going to mention wallets. You should carry a purse instead.

After a conversation with an orthopedic surgeon friend some years ago, I moved my wallet to my front pocket. The major cause of sciatica is a fat wallet.

I find being married is a cure for the 'fat' wallet syndrome!

if the memory foam pillow doesnt work you could try
a place that sells cloth, like from the big rolls.
they often sell foam of all sorts of hardness.
you can buy a square of it and cut it to fit yourself.

How about a haemerroid cushion . ---- Seriously though, I see in some ads that they sell Gel Pad cushions for automobile seats. Even Toyota has a built in gel pad as a comfort option in their seats.

Have you tried turning off the heated seats when it's 80 degrees out?

Go to an automotive upholsterer and ask them to put a 1/2" thick memory foam under the cover.

Or..Look what I found.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Memor...spagenameZWDVW

Just find an auto upholstery shop in your area and they can re-pad the seat to your liking.

I'd like something like a sqaure peice of cloth with inflatable bladders along each side to put behind my back so the side bolsters actually touch my sides and hold me in place..
I've got an inch of play on each side of my skinny back. Adjustable bolsters would be even nicer. Then I could squeeze myself in tight for auto-x.

find a good yoga teacher and spend some time modding yourself....i am in the same boat being 53 and find that it's most often myself, not my car which is the source of frustrations and suffering....don't become so attached to your car that you lose sight of the most immediate source of your affliction....best of luck
