Getting the stupid dealer sticker off my rescued MINI?

Does anybody know how to get the stupid dealer sticker off without screwing up the paint? I mean, yeah, I bought the Mini used down here in no man's land, southern Illinois, but nobody needs to know that. Jeez.
Valerie
P.S. I like to think of my Mini as a rescued Mini, kind of like my rescued pets. It was all alone in a world of inferior cars at that Toyota dealership. I couldn't just leave it there.....

I'd either use a heatgun or hair dryer to heat up the sticker for about 30-45 seconds. not too close though.
Once it heats up, it should be easy to peel off with your fingers. just be careful not to scratch the paint with your nails.
if there is any sticker residue, just rub some goo gone on there and wipe off with a microfiber and you should be fine

Come on up to STL for our detailing day and we will take it off for you.
See the thread on it in the STL Mini Club Forum for more details.

I want to come up because I don't know jack about detailing, but not sure if I can yet -- that's why I haven't RSVP'd I'm trying to make sure we don't have anything going on. Why do teenagers have to get in the way so much???

+1 on the heatgun/hairdryer. A good rule of thumb is that if you can comfortably keep your free hand right next to the sticker while you're heating it, then you're not using enough heat to damage the paint.

You can soak the decal/sticker with WD-40, which dissolves the adhesive without messing the paint. Makes it slick enough that you can use a fingernail to get under sticker.

WD-40 works.

Goof-Off would certainly do the job, but test it on the paint first.

Is it a sticker , or the metalized 3D type stick on s ???
Stickers I soak in 3M adhesive remover, then use a heat gun ...
3D ones, you can see saw fishing line or even dental floss to slice them off then use the 3M adhesive remover to get rid of the residue

It is a sticker. I haven't tried anything yet, been waiting to see the different ideas that come up here and also to see if I can come up next week to the detailing get together!

I've got a thin plastic "blade" that is made for removing vinyl decals(and it won't damage your paint). I used it when I changed my bonnet stripes. It worked great for lifting an edge to peel the stripes off, then I used GooGone to remove the remaining adhesive. Be sure to wax your car after using GooGone or any of the other adhesive removers.
