I am getting what i can call moisture "steam" coming from vents. It's intermittent, seems to happen when i turn the AC. Has anyone else had this issue?

I recently have topped off my coolant. Could I have overfilled and this is the cause, sorta a mystery!

Is it safe to drive as long as i keep the antifreeze level up?

 

A momentary 'fog' coming from the a/c vents when first turning the system on is normal. It will happen in rare cases of cooler weather with humid conditions. Adding engine coolant has no bearing on this, even if you add too much.

Now, if you feel 'steam' coming from the vents, and if using your defroster coats the windshield with a fog that needs to be wiped off (meaning, it does not evaporate soon after the system has been on), this indicated a leaking heater core. If this is the case, and your coolant has been disappearing requiring you to top it off, look for coolant stains on the carpet in the footwells.

Most likely (and hopefully) it's the first diagnosis.

 

Unfortunately, It's #2. Luckily I am still under warrenty (for another 2,500 miles). I have a puddle on my drivers side floor. Where is it coming from? I can't tell.
