Outside Temperature Gauge Off

I've been noticing lately that my outside temperature gauge is off by about 10 degrees. I figured maybe AZ's heat was too much for it and when it got in the 100s, it was just off... no biggie. But even when it's in the low 70s in the morning it says it's in the low 80s. It's starting to get really annoying. Any ideas as to why this could be? Also, I haven't done anything the should have affected it - they only mod I've done in that remote area is a 17% reduction pulley.

Thanks for any advice!

Can you find the sensor? I think it's behind the front bumper. I'd look and see if it's still hanging in the right spot. My Lexus is off by 3 degrees, we just call it optimistic. 10 degrees would be annoying for sure.

Mine is usually about 5 -10 degrees high when I get in the car, but after I
get moving for a couple minutes, it's drops down to an accurate temp.

Yeah, that's normal. But I could drive for an hour and mine would still be 10 degrees high.

chpsk8,
I'll check to make sure the sensor is hanging in the right place.

Well, that's not right.
Have the dealer put a new sensor in under warranty.
Unless they determine the Espelir springs void the temp sensor's warranty.

You know the speedometer isn't accurate either. If we can't be trusted to know our real speed, how can you possibly think we can be trusted to know the real temperature

I wouldnt worry about it. I believe someone once said that because the sensor is so close to the ground it does a better job of measure pavement temperature than air temperature. I have seen where the thing is and that idea make a lot of sense.
