Here's an odd problem- one of my brake lights is always on, when the car is on and the lights are on. Noticed a while back, and changed the bulb. Didn't help, but then I realized I had purchased the wrong type of bulb. So I went back to the store, bought the correct bulb, and put it in. The light is still on, only on the left side. Stepping on the brakes has no effect on the left side, only on the right and third brake lights. Obviously something is grounded wrong, or shorting, or perhaps i have a module issue. Does anyone know of any obvious places I could look before I start digging all over?

 

Check the contacts where the plug would plug into the rear taillight housing. Check for corrosion.... pull the bulb back out and check the pins on the housing.
