Thread for all KNOWN stock issues?

OK I'm new here and there may already be a thread for this but what I mean is this, a list of all the known (by owners) usual problems with MC. I have an 03 MC and have suffered the following problems, most of which out of warranty and have foound others on here or other mini forums who have had the same problems:

Door locks
Passenger side X2, warranty driver side out of warranty.

Water leak
For months, from the rear brake light as it turns out. Dealer :"never heard of this".

Boot hinges
Both boot hinges broke separately, a year apart, major fight with BMW. DEALER/BMW this "had never happened before" must have been our fault...

Engine Bay Fire
Separate thread. Dealer: "never heard of this before"

Stress fracture of windscreen
Dealer "never heard of this, must have been a stone" This despite the fact that is cracked as I was leaving an indoor garage at about 10kmh.

Front seat back stops working
Dealer "leave the car with us, we'll take a look" My dealership is an expensive taxi ride from my job, or a 30 minute walk. And I live in the country so I need the car to get home. Happily I found the answer on here!

Difficulty selecting reverse
Dealer... you guessed it :-D

Don't the dealers use Google???
Is there no internal database of reported faults?

Good idea? Bad Idea?

Try another dealer...We don't do that! Issues and problems are just that and there's no sense in denying that a problem exists. If you do an individual search, you will find answers to all that you have posted about. Your reverse gears are not syncronized and you have to double clutch at times.

Part of the problem is that I'm in Europe, Sweden to be exact and US levels of service and customer care just do not exist. Sadly all I'm interested in now is selling the car and buying a Saab.

I know Saabs have issues too but we have had a 9-5 wagon from new and have not had a SINGLE problem with it in three years and a fair few miles.
