Passenger Window Wont Open

Hey everybody,

Quick question...my passenger window will not open at all. I hear a clicking noise whenever i hit the switch, but its just one click. The driver door works fine, and the fuse is ok. A while back i put ian cull's auto up circuit, so i dont know if that had anyhting to do with it. I dont think it would. I am out of warranty, so if anyone can share a similar experience and how they solved it. Thanks
Marco

No, Ian's circuit has nothing to do with it.
Your window motor is going out - a not uncommon issue.

For a temporary fix, while holding the switch down, bang on the inside of the door below the door handle.
Then, prepare to get the motor replaced in the future.

try the quick fix he mentioned but you don't have to hold down the switch for it to work. and yeah you will need a new motor really soon.

mine has the same problems 03 MCS. Just took it to the dealer, they are going to replace the motor under warrantee and also replace the track and guides for the driver side. There is a TSB out for this.

Do you happen to know what the TSB covers? I don't want to hijack the thread, but the windows on my MCS just started squealing in warm weather. I was thinking this could be one of the first signs of the motor failing...

the window squeal is not because of a motor issue is because of the regulator. the window regulator needs to be lubricated.
good luck!

My driver window on our 2005 R50 was squealing occasionally. Otto's MINI lubed both sides (no charge). Great service!

I'll have to remove the door cards and try lubing the regulator. Thanks for the tip!
