Help Please, Tapping Noise

Hey can someone help me, I'm not sure if this is normal or not. When I start my car and put it in netural and the clutch is not engaged I get a rather loud tapping noise, when I depress the clutch it goes away. It's done this since I have had the car.

Sounds like the dual mass flywheel that a number of folks have have noise issues with in both the R53 and R56. If you search on noisy clutch or tapping noise clutch you'll probably see quite a few threads on the subject. Some folks have had it fixed with a flywheel and/or clutch replacement and others have reported the noise returning even after that. I'm sure that you'll hear from folks that have had this issue and they can add more details. Best of luck with it.
