Consistent 2005 Stock Issues?

Hey guys,
Looking for some community help on this one to bring another into the fold. My brother-in-law is looking into buying a used 2005 Manual MCS and his mom (a potential co-signer on the loan) is somewhat against it because Consumer Reports gave it an average rating with transmission problems and minor engine part problems. I'm 40,000 in and all I've had is a broken thermostat that was fixed for practically nothing. I imagine the transmission issues have more to do with the Automatic variants and not the manual ones. If you can spare a moment, give me your problem free reports and mileage or problems if you do have them.

If its a MCS then it doesn't have a CVT AUTO.

I have 62K miles and all I've done is replace the power steering pump, but that was covered under warranty. I think the MCS manual is a great car.

O5 MCS

Issues:
Bad Motor mount (not year specific - changed under warranty)
Mushroomed Strut Towers (not year specific)
Stumble at Startup (not year specific)

Overall a GREAT car IMO up to now (knocking on wood). 17K miles, 2years 4 months and several engine mods.

My supercharger made a funny noise (though it was working fine) and the dealer replaced it under warranty. Other than that, just oil changes and maintenance services. However, if you live in an area where there is lots of construction going on, get glass coverage. I'm on windshield #4 due to following lots of dump trucks and tractor trailers on the highway.

Bad a/c compressor replaced
Bad motor mount
Bad slave cylinder replaced
oil leak after first service due to a bad o-ring
replaced speedo due to faulty clock, new one still does not keep correct time
think that is all major problems, and all fixed under warranty

05 MCS manual 37,000 miles

-Bad fuel pressure regulator (happened in first 50 miles)
-Bad motor mount (leaked hydraulic oil)
-Leaking sunroof (caused puddle on passenger floor, was faulty tube down A pillar)
-Stumble at cold start (still does it)
-Tearing windshield wiper blades (2nd set is torn at 37k miles) why?
-Clock that runs fast (replaced speedo, now fixed)
