Water leak from rearview mirror!

Anyone know where this leak might be coming from? When it rains, it starts to drip from my rear view mirror. It's a light drip, accumilating from INSIDE the mirror! My car does have a sunroof, but I don't see any water build up anywhere or wet headliner inside. Could it be the infamous front window seal? Help!

I would think that it could be either the windshield seal or one of the drain plugs in the sunroof channel is either plugged, pinched, or disconnected. Not sure how you would confirm this (maybe pour some water into the drain and observe what happens?). Good luck.

I had the same issue. It started after a windshield replacement. I did the water in the sunroof channel test to make sure the drain holes weren't plugged, they weren't. I called the windshield replacer and they came back. Here's what I was told: the rubber seal was put back in so that the two ends joined at the top of the windshield, causing a spot that water could leak through. They re-did the seal so that the two ends met at the bottom of the windshield and I haven't had any leaking since (over six months with lots of rain here in San Antonio recently). Hope this helps.

Thanks! I found a shop that'll replace the seal for about 75 bucks installed, with a lifetime warranty...

Don't overlook the sunroof drains. If the tubes are crushed or plugged, you will have the water overflow condition you are describing.
