Where: Parking lot next to the Westin Hotel by Busch Stadium in downtown
St Louis

Time: 4PM exact time yet to be determined

What: Tailgate Party with food, beer, soft drinks, jumbo-tron TVs & 160
baseball tickets to the Cards game that night

YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT. SIGN UP FOR EITHER THE NASHVILLE-ST LOUIS LEG OR THE ST LOUIS-INDY LEG. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THE DRIVE. AN EVENT PACKET WILL BE SENT TO YOU WITH ADMISSION ARMBANDS. YOU MUST HAVE AN ARMBAND TO GET INTO THE PARTY!!!!!!

The next morning on August 30 there will be a group picture under the ARCH with breakfast provided. Those times are yet to be determined.

Hey all, I live in Nashville and am making this leg as well as the St. Louis to Indy leg. I was wondering how far away from the Headquarters hotel (Westin St. Louis) that the Holiday Inn Select Downtown was and will it be safe to park my baby there? This will be the first time I have been to St. Louis in a while so I didn't know. Also if there are any other hotels closer the the Headquarters Hotel any info would be appreciated. Since I will only be slleping in the room after taking in all of the fun MINI activities I didn't want to spend $200 a night. Thanks in advance for any info and I will see you in St. Louis.

 

i live a block away from the holiday inn. there's no parking there except on the street. i would suggest the Renaissance St. Louis Suites Hotel. i just compared the same night at the holiday inn to the renaissance and it was only $30 difference ($129 compared to $99) and they have parking.

 

Gunner II gets put on order tomorrow so as long as he comes in by then, should be no problem, count us in too. I think I signed up before but I'll check. This will probably be our first event in Gunner II, look forward to seeing everyone there.

Thanks for the suggestion! I just found the Radisson Hotel & Suites. Does anybody have any comments on this hotel. It has a parking garage to put my MINI in and is across from the Arch. Is this a good area? And how far is it from the westin St. Louis?

This will be my first roadtrip with Shadow and what a better way do do it than MTTS!!

 

I am going to be intown that evening and look forward to coming down for the tail gate and maybe the drive the next day.

 

I don't think there is a "bad" hotel in downtown St Louis & for the most part everything is within walking distance of Busch Stadium & the Arch. I'm a native & I have no qualms about walking downtown day or night.
My MINI has been parked on the street & in garages many times & I've had no problems.

I would LIKE to register "CQQPER", but try as I can, I can never get the MINIUSA.com site (much less minitakesthestates.com) to open up. I have reset screen resolution, turned off popup-blockers, allowed activeX content...all pretty dangerous things to do in the scary world of the Internet, even disabled NAV....all to no avail. Our Communications guru, Lois @MINISTL has the same problems. Whassup w/MINIUSA?

Hey, for all of you who would like a slightly fun detour. If you are traveling with MINI TAKES THE STATES on 8-26-06 from Dallas to Memphis then I STRONGLY ADVISE taking a few laps at the intersection of State Line Avenue & I-30 in Texarkana on our infamous "Clover Leaf"....soon to be demolished & rebuilt like a normal Interstate intersection.

....You will talk about it when you get home if you like right hand turns!

 

Also, If there are enough interested people coming through & know what time you will be passing through....then I might be able to secure a friends airplane & take some aerial photos of all the MINI's going around it as you pass through.

I may have to buy fuel for his plane (Cessna) so I need to know how many would be interested to see if it is worthwhile to setup. We could also take aerial photos of all the MINI's as they are approaching on I-30

We will be there and are signed up but the new MINI is scheduled to be delivered the first week of Aug so we will be back in our beloved
mini for MTTS.

Well, probably not going to the Cards game, unless sugested otherwise. I thought there was to be a group sitting outside the stadium. As for the next day going to Indy.....What are most people bringing? I's there an Ajenda....I'm basically planning to drive there and back as I'm working this into my schedule. Anyone doing the same? Would Love to have a partner to follow back.

I signed up for both St Lois-Indy and Indy-Cinci. Don't know which or where. Its quite convenient though that the indy stop is in IMS, blocks from my house.

 

My new MINI is on the Patriot, arrving at Charleston, SC on Sunday Jul 16. I'll be able to break him in before the MTTS comes to St. Louis.

Getting excited to get back into a MINI again and see everyone.

Online registration for this event was slated to close on
Monday, July 17th, however, it was recently decided (today) that we would extend registration another week, for closing on Monday, July 24th. This information has not yet been posted on the program Web site.

Registration packages for all motorists who registered online prior to the 7/17 will go out the w/o 8/7. Registration received after that date and prior to the extended close date will go out the w/o 8/11. Each package will contain a welcome letter from the MINI and the following materials:
