St. Louis MINI sightings!
Even when I drove my Just-a-Cooper Cabrio
How do you think I snatched Mark
SoCo Girl - 09 S pepper white cabrio w/rally stripes
I just gave/got my first wave (that I know of) today! I think it's cool when that happens. My husband has a Corvette and they do the same thing to each other.
Sorry if anyone thinks I ignored them. Absolutely, not the case! Just in my own little world half the time.
But hey, don't let that stop you. Honk all you want and wave like a fool! I'll notice...eventually.

)Girl, you are one in a million
One of my other heaps is a '73 VW Thing in bright yellow. Not many of us on the road, so we definitely wave, honk, etc. The few, the proud, the other air-cooled VWs do, too.
Belleville
Hi, I'm shiny new and all; got my MC June 3 and I live over here on the wrong side of the river in Belleville.
I see a couple MINI's all the time. One is a pepper white MCS with rally lights and black bonnet stripes and lives in the courthouse garage. A darker MINI is sometimes in the same garage but I don't know if it is black or BRG. Another one I see often is a red convertible with black bonnet stripes that lives on East Washington just east and across from the Historical Society. I never see people in them to wave to though. Saw a black with white roof turn off of Eastbound Frank Scott onto 159 North and then into some apartments, but never got close enough to wave.
I did get to wave at one MINI on West Main near a Shell station yesterday and the driver waived back. I probably didn't give much of a wave, but I was up-shifting with one hand and steering with the other.
I've also seen a silver MINI of some type around town, but usually from a distance.

I was hoping to come to the social hour; don't know anything about the Rally in August. I was sad I missed the Berryman Rally; my parents retired down to Berryman. I had planned to make the last club meeting, but it apparently got canceled.

I wave at all of the New MINI's i see. Sometimes I get a wave back but most of the time I get a confused look that sometimes turns to a smile when they realize im driving a classic mini (panel van)
LOL. Guess I just assumed that ALL MINI drivers Know what a classic looks like.
Bright orange van with black roof and black wheels.
I drive it as much as possible. All over STL.

I have seen you a few times near 270 and Tesson Ferry, I waved.
I was out motoring about 3/4 of the way to Arkansas yesterday and on the trip back saw a Velvet Red (I think thats the color) with a checkerboard pattern on the sun roof. This was on 185 south of Hwy 100.
I was in a similar colored just a Cooper with white roof and bonnet stripes (loaner until mines fixed)

I thought for a second it might have been our '03 Velvet Red, but ours has the VRed roof. Mama took a galpal and 2 of our boys to Branson on Sunday. She told me this morning that the Minis are few-and-far-between down there :-D
Here is a Mini sighting story for ya!
While working, I was parked along a stretch of Lindbergh Blvd. Suddenly from the southbound lanes I notice the roof lights of a patrol car coming my way, following a nice (Brand New) 09 Mini S (Black/Red). The Mini pulled into the very parking lot that I was parked in, followed by the patrol car.
I got out when the other officer did, and approached the driver's side. (The officer knew that I owned a Mini S)
The officer advised the driver that he stopped her for doing 59 mph in a 40 mph zone. It turns out that this driver just traded her 03 Mini for the 09 Mini S and just got on it to feel the difference in performance.
The officer differed to me because he knew I was into the car (and because I greatly out ranked him), so the only thing I asked, "Are you a member of the St. Louis Mini Cooper Club?"
"No," was her reply. "Are you anti-social?" "Oh no, I just don't know what they do!"
Well, long story short, I may have recruited a new member. Here name is Sara, and she has a friend that has a mini as well.............so maybe there will be two members!
Oh, and to answer your outstanding question. She did not get a ticket.
