I was on the freeway here in SoCal on a toll road. I'm in the slow lane. A cop pulls out behind me, no problem.. cars pass me as I go the limit. I have to take the offramp to pay my toll and he takes it too and is right in my mirror... there are 2 other toll booths and he chooses to stay behind me.. now i'm getting nervous but I haven't done anything wrong so I pay, chat with the attendant for a few seconds and get back on the freeway. I have to get over to the left side because the freeway splits. Guess who decides to go that way too? I drive onto the other freeway and the next exit I take off because I had to take my son to the hospital and at that point he speeds away. What the hell was that all about? I don't even have my car tinted. it's like he ws looking for anything to get me and couldn't find anything I was doing wrong. I'm not a paranoid person but he sure made me feel that way. Great way to start a Monday morning.

hmm..cops are an odd bunch. When a cop gets behind me i just plan to pull over. My back windows are 5% limo tint and my sides are 20%. Im always getting hassled.

 

fitch- I wouldn't worry about it, he probably didn't make anything of it. Out where I am 20 miles isn't unusual if they are just A to B driving (farm roads no intersections). Just behave like you do anyway and he should leave you alone. (And make sure your tags are up to date!!!)

 

thanks Motor on.. I guess that fact he pulled behind me into the toll booth was what bugged me. Mini's are definitley unique cars so I guess I should expect it now and then. I love dring this car, it never gets old for me.

 

Before I got my MINI, I have to admit that I found myself following other MINIs as if I'd been hypnotized. You really can't get too mad at the cop for coveting such a fun little car...

 

To be honest Cops usually leave the mini alone. I have cops get behind me and then switch around to check up on some honda civic up at the light hahahaha. I guess the mini just doesnt look like a car that could be trouble.

 

i think for the most part the MINI is not regarded in the same light as civic's are...hell ive had cops follow behind me and then pass by snapping a pic of bumbles

 

Ive owned a Civic and my Mini. Trust me I know the Mini isnt a cop target. MY civic was though! Glad i sold it!

Ha! Im a cop and I'll remember that when you need my help!! Hahaha!! Just kidding. I get called all sorts of things by 'rock monsters' and 'parolees' everyday. These lil words don't offend. If I see a Mini, I like to drive near it to check it out. I have 1 and want to see if they have any mods I like.
