I just came down to LA for the weekend. I have not been down for a while and this if the first time with the Mini.

One thing I want to point out is that people drive fast. Cruisin 90 mph the 405/5 is nothing.

I definitely would have to go ***** out with the mods if I lived there. How do you guys do it?

same here, when i visit L.A. ppl drive fast. i dont mind it though. i usaully do about 90-100 in the slow lane and ppl are still passing me.

 

That's funny, whenever I'm on the 405, 45mph is considered fast!

 

You must be driving it in the middle of the night. T drives it everyday and at the end of the week her average speed usually reads about 22.5 mph.

 

I do La Jolla to Los Angeles on average about 2 times a month, leave around 10:30 pm and arrive at about 11:45 averaging about 95mph with a few bursts up to 115 in empty pockets of traffic. Always fly with V1 and check the mirrors every 3 seconds

Why don't people get out of your way when you're going faster than them in the fast lane? People in LA have NO lane discipline! HEY YOU! The guy who doesn't get out of my way - you're the reason people are weaving!!!

 

You KNOW this thread is getting locked down.

KNOWING THAT ... What is the point of discussing this??? Is it really necessary to tell the world your driving 100 MPH on a PUBLIC HIGHWAY???

 

Good thing about leaving late at night is if there's somebody going 60mph in the fast lane I just hang back about 4 car lengths and just high-beam them for a few miles, they'll usually get out of the way. And if they don't, then you can just creep by them in the next lane over. I always observe lane etiquette, because as fast as I'm usually going, I always encounter a couple of cars that will blow by me at 130+......usually an M3, 911 or MBZ AMG.
