So I went to Vegas last weekend...

.... and hooked up with the Sin City MINI Club. Now THOSE guys know how to have a good time. With only 2 days notice 8 other MINIs (~15 people) managed to join me for a RedRock run, and then after that we went to a bar and got pissed on big *** glasses of beer.

Apparently getting pissed is a regular occurence.

Why don't we have anything like that going on here??? Is it because L.A. is too big? Or not hot enough to drink out of 34ounces perhaps?? Or were those vegas people just crazy?

It would be nice if there was something similar to that around these parts, does anyone around the West La/South Bay/Hollywood/Santa Monica area feel the same way?

Someone should probably start something... like "The Westside Crips MINIs" or something. . No, the name wont be THAT bad, but you get the idea.

Something small and crazy/fun, yet close knit. e.g. ...
- Not as broad as SCMM
- Friendly and cool like c3 (without the charity - because then it would be c3 x 2)
- Not as aggressive as TMMZ
- Not as old fashioned as MOALA

Does anyone know where I'm coming from?? Does a club that I just described even exist?

..... hold on lads, I have an idea.

Watch this space.

p.s. If anyone is interested in starting something and know what I mean, PM me.

Camelpilot...

I also went down to LV this past weekend.. I was surprised though that I didn't see any Mini's around. Maybe I should have stayed away from the strip... Before heading back up to the bay area, I even passed LA... I knew I was in LA since MINI's start appearing everywhere....

I should have hooked up w/ you guys and had a drive in Vegas... I wouldn't have liked it that much though since the temps were way up there....

Haha nice!!!! Uhm c3 without the charity?? LOL. Well most of our monthly get togethers aren't charity related--since these are more about building and maintaining friendships and our own MINI's. We're open to all kinds of things. A bunch of us went to Long Beach Aquarium last weekend, and we're going to be seeing King Tut just as MINI friends hanging out in another week. Today I did a private c3 detailing clinic for a couple new MINI friends that couldn't make my normal clinics on the weekends.

Oh man I forgot the whole point of my post. I'm going to Vegas this weekend!!!! But I'm going with my wife and taking her parents--so the wife is driving her Murano---no MINI for me.

Fool, you better recognize.

Seriously, though... too aggressive? I mean, we're a bunch of hardasses, no doubt--but if anyone likes to have a good time, it's TMMZ.

Bring the Guinness! Er, and some Jameson too, if you'd be so kind.

Come now..... I dont mean to step on anyones toes - something thats very hard to do when starting a new club.

I don't really have anything against TMMZ - you guys are a great club, I enjoyed your TV special, but...... I used the term "aggresive" because

***************
Edited Out because it instigates Aggression. . Something I dont want between MINI Clubs.

****************

You have some really cool members, and charateristics, but some people prefer to be in a club that's different than yours (and others).

I have alot of respect for TMMZ, I hope none of it is lost in this New Club process.

Oh, no toe stepping. You're free to start whatever you feel like, man.

I've heard tales of (and seen evidence of):
- you guys not been very welcome to newcomers.
Whoa, back up now. Who told you these "tales"? Come on our forums, and you'll quickly see just how much we welcome newcomers. We have a section specifically dedicated to new people coming in and introducing themselves, and we've piled on the welcoming and answered tons of questions for people. Don't believe everything you hear in the rumor mill.

- tmmz being biased towards members depending on how long they've been with you.
Such is the nature of a "TEAM". There are two facets to TMMZ--the forum membership and friends, and the TEAM. To be in the TEAM, you're voted in, something that you have to earn. On the other side of the coin, we have tons of people who just come and hang out with us, because they're not interested in team membership.

- you guys not liking other types of cars coming to your meets, especially if they are faster cars.
Wow--this one's a doozie. We're regularly seen with Porsches, BMWs, Ferraris, Maseratis, Subarus, Mitsubishis, VWs, anything. It's not uncommon to see a line of TMMZ MINIs with Porsches and Subarus intermingled, for a spirited jaunt through the canyons, or shooting the sh** in pit lane at the track. Now you're really making me curious: Who's been feeding you this bull?

- you guys taking stuff too seriously
A lot of us are drivers, through-and-through. You'll find there are even a few of us that are more than Sunday drivers... driving is in our blood, and we want to pursue our passion at any cost, whenever possible. If passion is something you deem negative in a group, perhaps TMMZ isn't for you.

- you guys rule the canyons

You have some really cool members, and charateristics, but some people prefer to be in a club that's different than yours (and others).

Thanks, man. I totally understand you wanting to be in a club different from ours--to each his own--but get your facts straight before you make conclusions about us.

A MINI Pub Club would be FUN!!! We have a great assortment of pubs in the greater-Los Angeles region, too! There is room for a variety of MINI clubs! And racing, charitable, fun-run inter-club events can be planned, too!

Camel...you have a PM.

Now, I ask you: Does this look like an overly-aggressive team to you?

Camel, I like this design, but I would REALLY like to see it on a beer mug, as part of the logo! Cheers!

edit: Is this a lads-only thing? Am I mistaken, or is this open to all?
