I'm already here in Vegas and would love to spend some time with some other MINIacs. There don't seem to be all that many on the road here.

Track time would be GREAT! Count me in for that! How many ppl get Martin Luther King Jr Day (January 20, 2003) off that could do a long weekend in Vegas?

I vote for the road course. I'll be there for sure if we get to buzz around the road course.

Hey everyone...

I'm gathering up sponsors...
http://www.minicooperparts.com
http://www.gotmini.com
http://www.cooperflags.com (comingsoon)

I do have a minor giveaway from http://www.minicooperparts.com and have been thinking of a clever way to give it away.

Hmmm

Anyhow, I'm still plotting, I've spoken with a spokesperson from the Las vegas Motor Speedway, it's costly, but with enough sponsorship, it'll be taken care of... even if I have to push the date into Feb/March.

I'm looking to make this one of the largest annual Mini events... I would like to keep it exclusive to MINI. A whole track day open to Mini's, Vendors, Give-Aways, Entertainment, Surprises, and of course the Flash of Vegas.

I would like to see several car clubs get together and tour to this event, meet other car clubs, show off what they have... conglomorate and network

If there are any other car clubs that would like to get involved, CMiniGo has expressed interest with SCMM...{ Thanks! }

Write to all your Mini Links and Suppliers... tell them you want to see them at this meet. Have them contact me info@mightyminiz.com

So far I have had 100's of emails from people expressing their intrest in the event... From Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and California.

When I can get definative numbers I can post official dates and registration guidlines.

If groups of Mini's are touring from locations outside of Vegas, My Sponsors will be supplying me with sponsor packs for attendees. Featureing coupons, catalogs, extras and Rally Decals to post on your Mini. This is the additional attraction for them to sponsor. Each Group will have Rally ***** to put on their Mini's, designating their group from another, and distinguish them on the track in Vegas.

It's a lot of work, any suggestions or assistance is more than welcome!

Again... contact the companies you believe would be fit to sponsor, send them an email... rally for their sponsorship!

Thanks!
Doug

We will also be inviting a million custom cars for a car show. This will assist in the offset costs of this event!

I would also like to get some Contests rolling...

Suggestions?

Doug

Hmmmm....looks interesting. There's a few kooks up north here that I could maybe talk into cruising down with. How long a drive is it from Portland to Vegas?

Davbret, Mapquest says it's about 1000 miles from Portland OR to Las Vegas.
Pflash, Mapquest says it's about 300 miles for you. It took me about 4 hours to get back to Vegas from Flagstaff over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Mini Cooper Lovers...................I am holding an event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 22 & 23. We will be having a car show, drifting contest, High Performance Driving Event, (this is where you can take your MINI out on track with or without instructors) and Races. We also will have the RHR MCS race cars there, and are hoping also to have the first round of the USTCC as well, where the MCS will kick some seroius butt.......................

I have all the rentals and insurance covered, special discount rates on hotel rooms, and can provide you with your own run group if you have more than 20 participants. Your own run group will cost $4000 for the weekend, you will get 4x25 minute sessions each day, and instruction. Thats about 1/4 of what it will cost if you go private.

Best Regards
Ray Hampton

Excellent idea to tie-in with this event. Ray is the Nevada director for NASA and he puts on first class events. We had our Cooper to a couple this year at the track. Check out the NASA website for details about HPDE events.NASA

About 1500 miles. My wife and I took a trip up to Eugene for parents weekend this fall on the bike. Truely some of the best scenic byways in the country!!! Can't wait to run it again in the MCS!!!

Regards,
Doug

When you say you have all the rentals and insurance covered, what are you refering too? If I show up by myself and want to drive my car on the track, what would that cost?

Thanks

We are also working the event with theBikiniCarWash.com and euro/import tuners.
We are planning multiple contests, shows, (fun for the over 18 crowd), and more....
You know, like you see on TV.

.... Lets have fun

Rory, track rental alone would be around $5000 not including the liability insurance which I believe they require a $5million minimum. Which equates out to about $7500 a year.

Of course, if you wreck your mini, your insurance will not cover the damages, so driving the track is an "at your own risk" sport.

Guys, I was not aware that you were so far along with the plans. Would you like to work together on it?

We run 4 to 5 events a year at LVMS, and have excellent insurance rates, and safety vehicle rates. Sounds like you have the same ideas as what we run.

Contact me at rhamptonracing@lvcm.com

Rory,

Entry fee to NASA events are typically $225 for two days, plus a once year membership of $35. Over the two days you will get 8 on track sessions.

AS for insurance, most companies and brokers cover any damage sustained during an HPDE event due to the fact that it is a driving event, not a track event. We encourage individuals to contact their respective brokers, but in general we have not experienced any problems.

For an event to be considered a driving event, requires the sanctioning body to have an established ciriculum and program.

Hope this helps

Just wanted to say "hello" to everyone. And to ask, if your Vegas meet is going to happen and if so when? I don't have a Mini but I've been thinking about getting one. Might get one in a year or so. However, that is yet to be determined (baby on the way). Anyhow, I'm REALLY impressed with the quality of the cars and the people on this board. It'd be really cool if you had a group large/small in Vegas around the 25th-27th of April. I'm part of the Team Sol Cal club and that's when we all found a decent hotel package (i.e., $54/night at the LV Hilton). I know that there's a few people in our club who'd can really appreciate a car(s) like the Mini's you all have...
