I just want to thank Long Beach MINI for a wonderful event on Sunday, October 20! The LB MINI Poker Rally had 84 MINIs (including 8 original Minis) participate in a 35-mile rally through Long Beach, San Pedro and Palos Verdes. They fed us In-n-Out burgers, raffled prizes, and awarded the best poker hands with a variety of prizes, including the grand prize, a set of MINI Luggage by Samsonite! There was also a fun fashion show of MINI gear for kids & adults, emceed by the gregarious and fun-loving Matt Limburg, a MINI motoring advisor. What a hoot!

Kudos to Becky Bell, of Long Beach MINI/BMW, for organizing the whole extravaganza! BTW, I won a deck of MINI playing cards! FUN! I didn't take any pics...too busy! Anyone else?

Cheers!

I, too, wish to thank Long Beach MINI. It was fun, friendly, and the best event so far. There were plenty of MINIs, and plenty of MINI-folk. Gotta have another one like it soon!

We might be interested, Clover! Keep us informed. It'll have to be after the new year, and I'm telling you right now, I don't drive in the high desert except in the winter! I remember sitting at the Four Corners, in July, at high noon, on the way back from Denver, with a bunch of mis-guided Mini folk, wondering what the friggin' hell I was doing there. The plan had been to pass thru at nite, but certain procrastinators screwed up the schedule. Never Again. I'm an old Zoni desert rat, and I know when to get outa the noon-day sun. Love to try Vegas at the rite time, tho!

Vegas Rally Baby, Yeah!

Yes, I am in the midst of planning a full event...

I hope to garner the interest of the Mini Aftermarket-eers and get them excited enough to set up "house" at this event...

I'm also working with a Major Strip casino for MINI rates...
I'd love to get more input from "y'all" and hopefully get people as far as Texas, interested in making a drive on up to Vegas!

I want to do it NOW, but for a true event to remember, I must take some time planning it.

Wish Me Luck!
Doug

something to keep in mind when planning a Vegas trip this time of year...COMDEX is there 11-16 thru 11-22....all the hotels just BIG $$$ during that event...big **** convention happens at the same time, both events are at the convention center...also, the week of Christmas through Jan 02 is THE busiest time of the year for Las Vegas, period. You've seen it on TV...just imagine, you and 750,000 of your closest friends hanging out of the strip...but inbetween those events I believe it is clear sailing....
(secretly hopes for a later december event so that he can drive Roxy...)

Well....there are more than 2,000 MINIs in SoCal, and who knows how many Minis! Are Minis welcome, too? That would be nice to have original Minis join in with us. Have you connected with all the SoCal, Ariz., Nev., & Utah MINI Dealerships, yet? I would think that many of the advertisers here on MCO would be interested in participating. Let me know how I can help you, Doug!

Cheers!

I live in Las Vegas, so if you want someone to scout locations or something, that would give me a good excuse to drive around more.

The drive from LA to LV is not bad. About 4 hours or so, without even really speeding from Canoga Park to the Hard Rock Hotel.

UPDATE

Working on renting the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the day... Either the road track or the Bullring... I dunno which would be more fun....

Have one sponsor so far TVA

Looking for more....

Also, Mini Cooper Parts . com is one of the other businesses offering up Prizes for the event.... Now I have to figure out what one needs to do to win them...

Hmmmm

Viva Las Vegas!
