ULTIMATE MINI Group Buy
It's disappointing to see most California MINI dealership still selling over MSRP with markups and add-ons that are unwanted and over-priced. I visited Bob Smith MINI in Calabasas this weekend to check them out and every MINI has "Dealer Mark-Up... $3,000" on the sticker! Ther are about 15 MINIs sitting on their lot...hmmm, I wonder why. So, sadly, the gouging continues. I could see it happening 2 years ago when the cars were brand new to this country and demand was super high and supply was super low, but it's crazy that this is still such an issue.
If there is anyone in Southern California looking to order a new MINI or Aero kit in the next few weeks at hundreds off MSRP and with no waiting list, read on...
I'd like to make it clear that I do not work for Classic MINI or Concours Transportation and I'm not making any money off giving this info out- I'm just trying to get people interested together so they can all save on buying a new MINI and shipping their MINI to California the best way possible. The last such organized shipment was organized on these very forums and had 7 MINIs on board and they all saved considerably on vehicle transportation from an out-of-state dealership!
Julie Saxa (440-266-6700 x2703) at Classic MINI in Mentor Ohio is offering $500 OFF any MINI she has in-stock (check http://www.driveclassicmini.com for cars in-stock) and $300 OFF MSRP on any MINI you custom order. I couldn't believe it when I saw her announcmeent on the NAM main page! MINIs selling below MSRP?! I came to find out there is no wait list at Classic. Julie requires only a $500 deposit and you have until the end of February to finalize your order for early April delivery. Last I heard, the current Chase financing rate is 3.64 % on loans up to 60 months for those with a credit rating above 700. Ask her for more info.
The other cool thing is that Classic MINI also offers 20% all OEM MINI parts when you mention "NorthAmericanMotoring.com". Everything but the JCW kit is discounted 20%. That includes getting a full Aero kit for only $960 primed, or they come painted in select colors from the factory for a bit more. Invisishield clear stone chip protection is also 20% off, so are parcel shelves, rear fog light upgrade, chrome grills for the S, aux inputs, clothing, oil filters, accessories and so forth! PLUS, you don't pay sales tax!
Yeah, but if I buy a MINI or Aero kit from Ohio, how do I get it to CA, right? Concours Transport Systems (http://www.concourstransport.com) covered transportation can deliver your new MINI or boxed Aero kit to you. It will make the cross-country voyage securely, protected from the elements. The more cars on the truck, the cheaper it is for everyone onboard. They can also transport the huge Aero kit (which can be combined into two very large boxes)
for much cheaper than FedEx or UPS could do. You won't pay CA sales tax on parts, but you will on your MINI when you switch it over to CA tags at the DMV. MINI transportation cost to CA will depend on the number of MINIs on that
truck load, but it will be less than $1,350. When they organized 7 MINIs on the group transport last time, it came to only $900 each MINI! Aero kit shipping cost will depend as well, but it will still be cheaper than buying it locally and paying $1200 plus CA sales tax.
If anyone is interested or knows anyone who is (maybe someone still on a wait list somewhere else or someone considering paying over MSRP and buying locally), contact Julie directly at julie@driveclassic.com. Pass it on!
Thanks,
Tracy

All the February ordering spots have been filled at Classic. She's still offering $500 off in-stock MINIs, but no more $300 off ordered MINIs. There ARE spots open for March ordering/April delivery though. She's super friendly and very helpful, so email julie@driveclassic.com if you're interested!

FYI:
I wanted to tell everyone I ordered my Mini from Julie at Classic. It was very easy and Julie made the ordering, buying so great. If you have any problems with ordering from Julie, DON'T, all will go just as Julie tells you.
I did fly back to Cleveland and drive it home. If you have the time to do this, I would. It was one of the best trips. It took me about 5 days to go from Cleveland to Washington state.
Let me know if you have any questions. I have also order parts from Classic and they have given me the 20% off.
Great people!

SHIPPING UPDATE...
I have more info on shipping cost for those of you interested in this great group buy opportunity. It's wintertime folks, and even here in Southern California it's been pretty wet and icky out. That's why shipping your brand new built-to-spec, no-wait $500 UNDER MSRP MINI Cooper or Cooper S from Julie at Classic MINI all the way in Ohio on a covered, secure transport from Concours is a smart idea. Sure you could save some dough by shipping it the cheap way on an open truck with ramps and let it sit out in the freezing elements and get wind-beaten on it's journey across the country, but my guess is that you care more for your new MINI.
Fred Koller from Concours has given me a more specific price breakdown based on the number of cars and delivery point. Up to 8 MINIs can fit on one truck-load, so let's load 'er up! The following cost breakdown makes the assumption that all cars are delivered to the S.F. Bay area. That means, if you're in Vegas, your shipping cost will be slightly less because your MINI doesn't have to travel as far, and so on. If you require a more specific quote based on your delivery point, please contact fredkoller@concourstransport.com . Be sure to mention this group buy. He is very familiar with Classic MINI as he has been trusted and proven his services to transport a lot of MINIs to their new homes all over the country.
1 car = $1400
2 cars = $1300
3 cars = $1200
4 cars = $1000
5 cars = $950
6 cars = $900
7 cars= $885
8 cars= $875
A $50 gratuity is considered appropriate for the driver, especially if you get a boxed Aero kit shipped at no additonal charge!
