2008 Italian Job Rally for Charity - October 25 - Register Now!!
Don't you wish you had this Gold?!! - October 25 - Register Now!!
Hello to all!
Are you ready for another fun filled MINI event to raise money for charity?
2008 Italian Job Rally for Charity

We are back again to experience the story of the Italian Job movie by driving around Los Angeles together and "going for the gold". We will again visit the Venice Canals, and experience many of the locations from the Italian Job movie. There is also an optional experience where one or more passengers can ride the metro from Hollywood and Highland to Union Station while the MINI driver drives above ground to meet up with the MINI again. There will be trivia based on the movie, so watch the movie and be ready to work to donate to one or more of the 15 charities listed on our website.
Each participating car gets a gold bar, plus there are prize giveaways, and motoring swag. This will again be an all day event with the proceeds going to the charity of the winner's choice, this time with a break for lunch.
Here's what the gold looks like this year.

Date: Saturday, October 25, 2008
Cost: $40, of which at least $32 will go to the charity of the winner's choice and up to $8 as needed will go to the administrative costs like prizes, gold bars one for each registered car, etc.
This time the event is limited to 100 cars and the event will be here very soon, so sign up today! Also help get the word out by telling all your MINI Cooper contacts about this charity event.
For full details visit our website at http://www.MiniCooperRally.com.
You can watch the six minute video promoting the event and view the event flyer here: http://montroseminicooperrallies.org...vent_main.html

Hey Everyone!
For those who went, I hope everyone had a good time driving all over Los Angeles today!!!
So I didn't bring my MINI out to the rally today, but I was with my buddy Taylor who had the Pepper White/Black Cooper with the chrome 16"
So I just got home from this rally, and let me say I had a FANTASTIC time, it was really well organized and the timing, maps, etc, were made perfectly, if you paid attention you shouldn't have gotten lost, and the time planned for each stage was perfect, traffic and everything were also factored into the time for each stage so most everyone arrived on time.
Even the small stuff was organized perfectly and it was a lot of fun, it was cool to ride the Metro and that was planned out perfectly, they considered that the metro comes every 5 minutes, gave enough time to buy tickets, wait and hop on the train, 18 minutes later and 11 stops we're at Union Station, though the Metro is optional I HIGHLY recommend co-pilots to experience this opportunity next year.
If you didn't attend, the Metro was pretty cool, the drivers of the MINI would drop you off at Hollywood station, and they'd go back to Union Station to pick you up, at this time you're also handed trivia questions to answer, while the co-pilot takes the Metro to Union Station.
Very cool rally, way way way better then I expected, we got to see A LOT of where the Italian Job (2003) was filmed, we saw the golf courses where the MINI drove out of after driving out of the, dams, the part where Mark Wahlberg e-braked the Cooper and the helicopter was chasing him, Steve's house, the golf course Skinny Pete played on, Steve's mansion, Yevhen's Jewlery store, we also drove to the Hollywood train station where the MINI drove in at, and also the final place where the MINIs were loaded onto the trains.
Ontop of that, it was fun to explore and learn Los Angeles, even though I live around here, I don't usually get an opportunity to explore Los Angeles, met some awesome people today, everyone had the Italian Job spirit today, and there were cool games we played as well at the various checkpoints, in the end, well worth my registration fee (as most of it went to charity) and I would not hesitate to do it again in the future! Looking forward to seeing everyone at Italian Job Rally 2009!!!

Thanks Guys,
Glad you enjoyed the event. It takes a lot of effort, and sometimes I wonder from a participant perspective how it feels.
It takes a team of people, and I want to thank Keith P., Fred B., The Bateman familiy, Heather, Cindy , and the sponsors that donated prizes.
We'll be back next year, and will see if we can make the event even better on the third time
, and hope to see you then,
- Charlie
