Once you get settled in, you need to take a drive up to Julian which is about 60 miles northeast in the mountains of San Diego county. Apple Days start in October and the trees start to change color and you WILL love the roads. Lots of twists and turns, custom made for your MC. Julian is a popular weekend get-away with lots of retreats, bed-&-breakfasts and quaint little shops and its claim to fame is the apple pie.

>>Brecht was about as arrogant and un-customer-friendly a dealership as they'd ever dealt with. There were, of course, those who claimed to have had no problem with them, but as always, I suspect that these are the people for whom money is not a concern.

i def disagree with this point. most people i know hate/had trouble with universal mini. i was treated great and got a bargain. so just becuase i have good opinions of this dealership, doesnt mean money is no concern to me.

My attempt to purchase a MCS from Brecht was not a pleasant experience, very arrogant and condescending with a take it or leave it attitude. I ended up going to Crevier and was completely satisfied with both the treatment and the deal. That being said, I have no experience with Brechts service department, they may be O.K. in that regard.

what is it with So. Cal. MINI dealers? Is there not an honest one in the land? People are willing to buy from midwestern dealers and ship the cars to the left coast? Holy Toledo (SLC,Memphis,Cincinnati), Batman! Could the Joker be back in town?

Ant,

Cy and myself got our Minis' from Crevier.

With in 1.5 hours you will have access to 3 different Mini Dealers. So, as far as service it is really how much do you like to drive your mini? Brecht is at the N. East corner of the county off the 15.

Job market-Well what do you do? Traditionally the job market in San Diego County has always been good. But, it also come with a high cost of living. That most people are not use too.

I am hoping to be a motoring advisor somewhere as that is what I do now. Brecht is the closest to me and thats why I was asking. Right now the move is still up in the air (due to the other people moving with me) but if they get it sorted out its a go. As far as fitting stuff in the MINI I was gunna travel light and buy cheap furniture when I get there.... Anyone know if it is possible to attatch a UHaul hitch to a MINI?
