Im here in Southern California and am dying to get together with other owners.
There is a Mini Club based in LA that focuses on the old Minis but seems to be very enthusiastic about the new Mini as well. They have a monthly meeting in Lakewood on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at Me and Ed's Pizza Parlour. (May 15th being the next meeting)
Perhaps that would be a good place to gather each month.

Hey randy, I met you last week in your shop (Black & White Mini). Let me know if you are going to be there at the next meeting and a little more details about the place such as address and time. I am in Norwalk so I can cetainly swing by.

Old and new Minis meet in Escondido every first Friday (that's this Friday 5th July) at CRUISING GRAND. At the west end of Grand on the North side, in a bank lot. You need to get there around 5:30 or earlier as there are hundreds of old and restored cars. There have been about 10 or so Minis in the past, let's make it 20 this week.Ron.
Let's not forget Mini Meet West in Orange county the 22nd thru 25th of August 2002.
Hosted by Mini Owners of America Los Angeles.
Their will be alot of Classic Minis there. I'll bet there will be a few New MINIS there also. If mine arrives in time I'll try to make it with my Classic and New MINI.
Expect some venders there with bits for the new MINI.

Here in SoCal check out http://www.scmm.org. That is the website for one of the fastest growing MINI clubs in the US! Currently at close to 100 members, and more joining everyday!
Also, coming up this weekend is the
Solvang Slalom, which is our 2nd event so far this year. We are working to get some type of meet every month as well.

I'm thinking more along the lines of something bigger...on the south east corner of victory and topanga..... by the old theater....
good space for a meet....
maybe we can scope it out for an april deal..... with vendors!
