Check out http://www.ok-corral.com or http://www.cityoftombstone.com

Since the majority of MINI owners in AZ are in PHX, our primary meeting place will be in Chandler, AZ. Time and specific location yet to be determined. The secondary meeting place will be in Tucson to pick up those Tuscon area MINI owners.

I'm cross-posting this to mini2.com, minicooperonline.com, and to the owners lounge.

Dominic

p.s. Here's some pictures from out last fun run to Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon.

It's Escape to the Pines. Custom car show, lots of mini truckers and imports.

We'll probably try to leave out of the PHX area (Chandler Blvd & I-10) around 7:30 AM. This is for consideration of the heat. Pick-up the Tuscon area folks about 90 minutes later. I think it's a 90 minute drive right? It's been a while since I've headed south out of PHX. Then head on down to Tombstone.

I was thinking about meeting at the Denny's at Chandler Blvd & I-10. I 'm getting there early (6:30AMish or so) for breakfast.

Tuscon area folks--Where's a good place to meet in Tuscon? We'll be there around 9:00ish.

Also, I'm not too familiar with the Tuscon area, so any of you guys down there, can you tell me if you know of some good winding country roads? You know, somewhere to let our MINI "streach their legs"...

Excellent! I'm going to try to make thsi! I'll keep you posted.

Had the DSC light come on today along with the tire pressure monitor. They then turned off after I restarted the car and drove for a little bit. the Dealer said it was because of an open recall on my car for some diode that may effect the cruise control....Dom, have you heard of this??

Nope, haven't heard of this. BMW/MINI is very secretive in recalls. They only send mail to those whose cars they know are affected (by VIN) by the recall. Some of the time I've heard they don't do anything to your car unless you complain about it. So let me know how the diode recall goes. I should have my new wheels and tires (long story) from tirerack the middle of next week! I'm painting my calipers right now. Those calipers are BIG and they seem to have different sections to them. So far my research has show two distinct painting styles. I'm looking for more pix online.

I'm not sure on the timeframe for our arrival in Tombstone. I figure we'll be in Tuscon by 9AM and pickup those in that area. Head out by 10AM and might be in Tombstone another .5 to 1 hr later. Hang out and go thru shops and find somewhere to do lunch. Then I'm hoping some of the Tuscon area folks can show us some fun motoring roads.

Based upon these considerations, you should be able to spend at least an hour with us in Tombstone then head back up to the PHX area.

Hello all,

I've been wanting to get together with local owners, but have missed every chance. Now, I've got a broken leg, but I might still try and make it...it's not too bad when I drive. It's walking that I have probs with. I'll look for the dates and see how I feel. Wish me luck. I'd like to meet some MINI lovers.

Best,

Jason

You're more than welcome to tag along! I'll be getting to the Denny's around 6:45AM for some breakfast! With that broken leg, tombstone won't be much fun, but lunch sounds like it's going to be pretty good (see comments over in the Owner's Lounge on miniusa.com from a Tombstone are resident). See you tomorrow.

Well, that was a fun trip! Thank you all for joining me on my fun-run!

My triped started at 5:40 AM and lasted until 9:10 PM. I motored 550 miles total on Saturday! Whew! But now I'm rested and have compiled some pictures. I uploaded the photos to the MiniCooperOnline.com's Gallery. Here's the link:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...hp&page=13
Pictures take up three pages (p13, p14, and p15). Enjoy!
Also, on page 12, Heather uploaded some of hers. Here's the direct link to hers:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...hp&page=12

Four PHX area MINIs met at the Denny's with their owners in tow. We motored to an exit just South of Tuscon where we were met by an addition two MINIs and a classic Mini. The seven MINIs took off after a quick meet-and-greet and headed south to some nice vistas and cool twisties.

We motored into Tombstone and grabbed some lunch. A couple MINIs needed to leave to get back to the valley. The other 5 cars continued southward towards the US-Mexico boarder where we stopped in a historic mining town and walked the norrow streets. Then we gassed up and motored back towards Tuscon.

I wanted to say a special thanks to Pat who let Barney know we we coming his way. Barney doesn't have a new MINI yet, so he doesn't surf Mini2, MCO, or the Owners Lounge. Without Pat, we would've not had the great pleasure to meet Barney and his classic right-hand drive Mini Coooper S, a very quick and nimble little car (shhh....I think we were going over 105 on I-10 at one point..hehehe...I think he could've passed us in those tight twisties if he wanted to...)

Anyone who wants a hi-res version of any of the photos I uploaded, just let me know. The originals are 2444x1632 while the ones I posted are only 1000x667.

Thanks again to everyone who participated. My MCS (as well as my wife and I) had fun motoring with all of you!

Dominic

p.s. Keep your eyes peeled. I should have the next destination for a fun-run by the end of today posted to the same three boards!

I love the photos. I have registered here so I will try to check in once in a while.

I had a blast on the fun run, thanks for including me! Maybe next time my wife will have the day off and can ride along, or drive so I can take photos!

Motor On!!

Barney

Oh, one big thing I forgot to mention is giving a BIG thank you to Jay and Jenni for being our tour guides in the souther part of the state! Without them we would've never found those cool twisties dwn near Bisbee, AZ or a place to lunch or that cool route from I-10 down to Tombstone (we would've ended up going thru Benson and St. David et...aka the boring way). Thanks again Jay and Jenni!
