So far Mini motoring club of the Carolina's, and a Group of the local Charleston SC SCCA guys, as well as Alot of Staff From Mini of Charleston!!

 

Oh yeah, If at all possible i'll be there. The Dragon is a blast. I just hope I got my pully and intake done by then . I'll be in touch.

I just did Deals Gap in the MINI last weekend as a detour in our family roadtrip from Chicago to Birmingham (2 adults, 2 kids, 1800 miles, 6 days)

Good news: Great road, almost no traffic

Bad news: We were running 4 hours late when we got there, it was dark and raining, and my daughter got carsick several times during the 11 miles.

All and all, I had a good time, but I doubt I will be able to bring my family back there.

Caddman why the late notice?? I'm guessing that's this August. How are we to make plans with only a weeks notice. Would have liked to go but need more time. See you all in 2004.

 

Caddman check the national events thread there is a Tail of the Dragon scheduled for October, I think. Also there was talk of another in May of '04.....

Actually this dragon run is being put on by Mini of Charleston, Cat & Dog Racing, SC SCCA Group, as well as Mini Mototring Club of the Carolinas, I know it was late notice but it was late notice to me, I will be at some of the other Dragon events trust me its like a drug, very addictive!!! Sorry for the late info but i was invited to helpout at a last minute notice, so ding what i can!! Hopefully a good turn out, I will be at other dragon runs and will gladly help organize those as well if im invited to...Hope those can come will its alot of fun!!!

 

Was wondering, if we had a head count on who may be interested in making thi strip.....

As to the late notice about this trip... we realized that there wasn't an SCR-SCCA solo II event scheduled for August (this was before White Knoll was confirmed) & wanted something to do in August. So Greg & I pitched it to the MINI people at the end of June and they seemed jazzed about it. Just took awhile to get everything going.

Hope to see you in NC, if not Catch Ya on the next trip!!

Looks like around 10 MINIs & a few other cars so far. Least that's how many have said they are coming.

Well I hope more can come, but i'll be there regardless, and having a blast unless mother nature kicks in, but that will just make it more interesting, last trip dragon was fine weather wise but our adventure to our lunch was much different due to a hail storm......but hey it still was a blast....

 

I might be crazy enough to drive up and do it again after just getting back from there this weekend!

I am going to spend the night in Greenville on Friday night. Is there a time and place to meet everyone on Saturday morning in Greenville?

I am staying at the Wingate Inn, my usual spot. The Wingate manager said to mention MINI Weekend and he would give a group rate of $49.00 for Friday night.

FYI

There is a MINI group from Knoxville that's going to Motor the Dragon on sunday along with us. There should be a good crowd. There's also a motorcycle group meeting there that weekend, but they are planning on riding the dragon on Sunday to avoid Smokey.

As to a get-together on Friday night/ Saturday morning.. I dunno yet. Most definately tho!!
