Mini in Miami
Hey,
welcome to the forum, and good luck with owning a mini. Just look at the left side of your screen, and under the features title look for the dealer rating system. This will tell you where the dealer is, and if it is good.

MikeJetta go to http://www.kelleybluebook.com and the site will have you type in some info and then tell you what it's worth....then when you talk to LAUDERDALE MINI ask them about the trade in and see what they say....

don't expect to get what kbb calls "clean" value though even if your car is in perfect shape. nobody pays "clean" value. the private sale value for my civic was $10k but the best price i could get for it on the open market was only $8k. still better than the $7500 the dealer was gonna give me in trade.

Not necessarily true! If you take into consideration that you don't pay taxes on the amount of your trade (7500 in this case) and you do all the legwork yourself. y At 6% sales tax you end up saving a whopping $50. Is your time and effort worth all that? Not in my book. If you're going to sell it on your own pitch that idea to the dealership, they may be willing to offer you a few more dollars for your car (especially if it's something they'd be likely to sell on their lot), they also handle all the paperwork for you. Just something to consider...

>>Would anyone know what kind of trade-in value I could get for my '02 Jetta 2.0 (almost perfect condition)?
Try either www.edmunds,com and check out their TMV used car values (True Market Value) or http://www.nada.com
Kelly Blue Book values are mostly a fantasy, sorry to say.
You can try selling your car in the flyer or the Miami Herald. Resist selling your car in internet used car sites...your car will never sell or very few interested leads will actually turn up.
As far as the South Florida dealers are concerned, don't waste your time with the AWEFUL South Motors and Braman MINI dealerships...they are the absolute pitts.
I live in Miami, but decided to purchase directly from Crystal Neagle at Lauderdale MINI. She is an absolute sweetheart and she will give you white gloves treatment during your purchase, Larry Bonito is another fantastic guy to deal with. He is the associate sales manager. The 30 mile drive to Lauderdale is absolutely worth it.
