I was wondering what level of intrest there would be in a Daytona Area MINI Motorists club, we have a thread going on sunshineminis to know who is in the area but I thought there might be few more MINIs on NAM that haven't been to sunshine recemtly, as I am new there myself. It appears as though a bunch of local MINIs and some MINI that are traveling are going to meet up at the Grand AM race on Fri. Jan. 27

 

I was in daytona last week and saw 2 or 3 minis over a 10 day period.We go down 2 times per year usually christmas and speed week.Most sightings were in the Nova rd Speedway blvd area.

 

Yes, DAMM is looking for a few good Minis!

If you are in or around Daytona, give us a shout. It's up to you whether or not you consider yourself "in the Daytona area"... so don't let that discourage you. I live about 30 minutes away, but I spend most of the day here working. If you are from Daytona and now live in San Diego (like someone I know who is here on NAM) or any other similar situation - you can still be a DAMM member if you want! You are responsible for all fuel costs when attending meetings & events though!

Because this is such a "tourist town" - anyone coming to the area for a visit is more than welcome to give us a shout, and we'll make you a DAMM Member For A Day!

Right now the club is in the planning phase, we are working on starting regular meetings and the like, but if your in the area post or drop us a PM and we could meet up. I'll post more info on NAM as we develop, glad to herewe have intrest though, I just saw a new MINI in the area on the way home CR/W so if your on the site say hi, I was the guy waving in the JB MINI.

Just a call out to anyone in the general Daytona area, we had our first "official meeting of the as-yet unofficial DAMM group"... (and it was my first MINI gathering ever ) It felt really good to meet other area MINI owners in person and spend some time with them but... I know that there are more of you out there , we are meeting FRIDAY at the Ale house at noon for lunch before going to see the Grand Am race at 2:15, anyone and everyone that loves their MINI and wants to cheer on Nuzzo is welcome . Please post here http://www.sunshineminis.org/forums/...=asc&highlight= so we have an idea of who is coming. We would like to have as many MINIs there as possible.

You are quite the post ***** on NAM I've seen.
Just did a run up Palomar Mt yesterday with a Lotus Elise - it was quick as....but I held him pretty good until I finally started to smoke the brakes and had to back it down the last four or five turns. By the time I got to the bottom and parked to have a chat they were smoking pretty hard....I need new pads - in almost all conditions they are fine, just not down the mountain. (or on the track I'd imagine which I am yet to do....but soon!)
Have fun at Daytona, I'm jealous....maybe I'll come back for bike week, and take a cruise in Minvader while I'm there. You gotta come out west and see our roads - unlike Florida they have curves!

I wish I could have the same complaints about my brakes, but the Granada bridge is about the most punishment I can give them here.... you and your damn mountains! I still want pics & video from the next run with the Lotus guys!

Yeah, Bikeweek... which reminds me I need to get with Glenn about doing a big birthday party for us & Paul - maybe we could do it while you are in town, if you are in town. I'm going to do the Dragon this year, so any trips out west will be much later in the year.

Three meetings under our belts and we're offically a DAMM club! We have plans to meet again on March 29th location TBA. Our second regular meet went well last night, short one person who we were hoping would make it, but we gained one person from all the way up in Jax... so... allblackmini, we know you have the coolest color combo for your Mini but it would have been cool for you to make it down too! - Kidding... I know it's quite a haul just for a couple hours over dinner, but you should try to get the Jax folks more active over on SSM... MiniMatthew and others are just looking for Mini things to do!
