Anyone else from the Tampa area south wanna go?
My Mini ought to be done by then and I need to break her in, so I think I'll be best doing a long drive with others, otherwise my foot may get a little too heavy.

Sweet, I'll keep posting on this thread. I did live in Key Largo, so I will need a quick nostalgia stop. MM100 right down Atlantic Blvd. #190 if memory serves. And I graduated from Coral Shores High School in Islamorada/Tavernier.

If you take 75 South, it takes you across the 'glades (east) towards Lauderdale. Outside of Lauderdale, 75 turns into 595. 595 eventually does hit the turnpike.
You guys from the west coast take I-75 south across the glades. Then take I-75 south towards Miami. 75 has an exit for the Florida Turnpike south/Homested Extension. This takes you to the Keys. Take that to the Snapper Creek rest stop. Look for the link on the first post above.

QUOTE:Sounds like a BLAST! I'd love to join you all! I've always wanted to drive that highway to the keys! Take lots of pix! haf
So I guess this means you WON'T be joining us?
QUOTEFrom what I understand, the Snapper Creek Rest Plaza is the LAST plaza on the turnpike. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Holly, Yes it is the last "rest-stop" connected to the Florida Turnpike. It's right after the 88th Street/Kendall exit.
