Central Florida British Car Events
There is an All British Car Club of Volusia County which holds lots of monthly cruise-ins from Sanford to Daytona. There is a cruise-in at the Sanford Steak n Shake on Saturday, July 5th from 6-9pm. Any Orlando MINIs interested in going?
Also there is the Fox Lake British Car Show 2003 on Saturday, September 20, 2003 from 9am to 4pm in Titusville.
Thought you might want to put them on your calendar.
James

I'd be curious how the BMW part of MINI is percieved by the British car enthusiasts you meet. Here in Texas the subject gets glossed over pretty quickly...which is great...but I understand this isn't universally so. Any gossip...comments?? We miss out on most of the controversy here in the US and its sooooo amusing!!!

Sorry about the non-reply James. I'll try to make it to the Fox Lake British Car Show Sept 20th. I don't think I'll enter my MCS, but it'd be great if a few of us can plan a little hang-out time aftwards. Let me know.
jds, We have a monthly British car night at a pub here in Dunedin and the Brit crowd handles the new MINI pretty well. There is the occasional wisecrack, usually from a Mini owner, but I always remind them that, nomatter who owns the company, it is still built in Britain and that they probably wouldn't have a problem with late model Aston Martin or Jag showing up (they've both been owned by Ford for years).

I may still go to the Fox Lake show. The hours are from 9am to 4pm, but since I've got a 2 1/2 hour drive (taking more scenic Hwy 50 over instead of I-4), if I go, I won't be showing up until around noon.
For more info and directions to Fox Lake see THIS THREAD on SSM.
