Welp, bad news

My company has terminated my position. They have given me the option to become a bill collector, or to leave w/ out severence pay. I've been here four years. Not sure what I'm going to do yet...

Sorry to hear the bad news. Even in the military, there is not offer for severence pay after 4 years of service. In fact, these days in the military they are many bosuses being paid and if you get out of the service before fulfilling your commitment, you have to pay the military back.

Keep the bill collector job for a while and search for a new job.

Bummer.......the job market is kinda "iffy" right now. I would think seriously about doing the bill collecting thing while you look for something else. At least it's a pay check coming in...

I've been laid off twice - not fun - but also lucky enough to get good severance packages both times....

Good luck to you - keep us posted...

Hey Coopah are you close to the American LeFrance plant? I work for Freightliner and they own them, Maybe I can put in a good word if they are hiring anytime soon.

Christy,

That bites! Let me know if you want to stay and not bill collect maybe I can put in a word with the retail channel manager if you are even interested in retail side of things?

American LeFrance builds fire trucks. My plant fabricates the parts for Freightliner trucks.

Ok, thanks! It's really a drab week. Hard to be motivated to do your job, when you won't have it in 2 weeks.

Sure you don't want to try retail for a little to have something? I can put in the word for you, not sure if it will help.

To be honest, I really don't know if it will be that much better. <shrug>

But, I appreciate you being so nice and offering.
