Sorry to hear the bad news. Even in the military, there is not offer for severence pay after 4 years of service. In fact, these days in the military they are many bosuses being paid and if you get out of the service before fulfilling your commitment, you have to pay the military back.
Keep the bill collector job for a while and search for a new job.

Bummer.......the job market is kinda "iffy" right now. I would think seriously about doing the bill collecting thing while you look for something else. At least it's a pay check coming in...:smile:
I've been laid off twice - not fun - but also lucky enough to get good severance packages both times....
