For those who had the chance to read the thread... I'm sure you know the one I speak of... I have a question.


Was it really all that bad? Was anyone offended by it?

I'm just curious.

 

I think it was startingto get out of hand, or at least potentially, though i'll leave the mods to gove you a definative answer.

 

I wasn't offended. I guess the "M" word is a no-no.

Last I checked you had to be at least 16 years old in most states to own a motor vehicle. Can't we all just assume that we're mostly adults in here....Jeezzzzzz

Megan Racing, I am sorry that your story was pulled. Thank god nobody was injured in this whole incident. It was only in that light that I could LAUGH MY TUCKUS OFF at what happened. Sorry that I found humor in your misfortune, but I think that was where you trying to go with it, forgive me if I was mistaken. I have read FAR worse in newspapers, and seen WAY worse on the local news. There is in no way I found this story offensive in any manner. I DO find it OFFENSIVE that NAM would pull this story, maybe a name change could have been asked for, but to pull sickens me. If the mods would like, I am happy to furnish web links to the stories that appear daily that far outshine this.

Well, drat. I totally missed it. My sister writes to a Soap Opera Digest for AMC. I told her some of that dirt would never make it here.

 

Based on what I'd seen posted in it so far, the thread wasn't offensive or headed in that direction. Just an attempt to use humor to deal with a scary, stupid situation. Only the mods can say exactly why they decided to pull it. I suspect because of the potential to become offensive, but then, so does almost every OT thread!

In fact, (yeah, I know, take it to the rants thread) it's all part of our society that loves violence but thinks sex will destroy us. Show any number of TVs where even heroes violently kill others and it is OK for primetime. Expose a breast and it is treated like the ultimate decline of the West. I can, for instance, write about decapitating a woman but not ****ing her. See? That is really twisted, imo.

but what's even MORE twisted is that its always the woman that has to be shown naked...

Just to make it clear here.

One of our moderators had a concern and felt the thread needed to be reviewed by the admins. Given the concern, it was the right move to ask for clarification of the guidelines as they applied to this thread.

There was discussion behind the scenes, and there was uniform agreement among the admins that the thread was within the guidelines.

It has now been returned here to Off Topic and is located here.
