Locked Thread

I would like to bring up a little something in regards to the reason for locking the passing thread yesterday .I support the action of Admin DiD ,but
Locked for RESPECT for other members ,come on .In all honesty what respect did G MINI show his fellow road users ? , absolutly none .Did he infact put other Members at risk ? . Many times, as the reports showed .

I have a question . Is there infact a committee on NAM consisting of Mr. Ferguson (DE MAN) and Admin ?? that could make a judgement .? If so What would you suggest would be the just punishment to a body that has brought shame to the NAM comunity. I admit I am really bias in this particular matter so I have to leave it up to other more stable ,at the moment people to maybe deal with this matter , although I hope the built in anger slips away soon.

I have nothing but respect for Mark and ALL the hard working folks that make NAM tick the way it does , not an enviable task by any means .

This BTW is not a vent but a serious call for help . I shudder at the fact that Someones family or family member would not be returning home because of the action of an imbesile . Please excuse my spelling Regards to one and all :::::::: Keith

Wow, this seems all fast to me, what's going on? By the look of your post, it seems serious. Fill me in, please.

It's not our place as moderators and admins on NAM to dole out judgement for what happens on the road or in the world out side of NAM.

We only act (as a moderation team) based on what happens here on NAM.

Yesterday, the discussion crossed the line of respect when people started encouraging harassment of another member by phone and linking to his phone number. The I'm not encouraging this, but... routine doesn't fly. It was encouraging harrassment. Clearly others saw issue with the thread since the bandwagon for IB4TL had started. The decision to close the thread was backed by members of the moderation team.

Also, keep in mind that there is no practical way to restrict anyone from attending an event on public roads, as is evidenced by the people attending these events that don't register at all.

I am on the outside looking in not having had the opportunity to have been there. However, what exactly can a virtual community do about someone breaking the traffic laws of some state???? I dont get it.

I crossed a line within the NAM forums.... My sincerest apologies

I felt as though the accused crossed a very deadly line several times over the course of the event and showed no respect for others

thats all I have to say about it.

Alright, so i finally got the scoop of what happened. Now that's some serious business and i am in no position to start talking about it either. But i will mention one thing, harassment is just as bad as any other offense.

I disagree that you did anything wrong. But I and not a moderater, and I am not running the forums. If everything was ideal in my world, Mark or a moderator would take this member aside and let him know that that us as a community will not stand for that kind of reckless behavior. I am not looking for legal action here, just for it to be recognized that this member should not allowed to be apart of our community if he wants to partake in activities that are going to not only endanger our lives, as well as friends and families lives. But also give our group a bad name, for being careless and inconsiderate for the safety of others. I dont think it should have any bearing whether or not it happened on the boards or on the Dragon. He is still a part of NAM, and whether or not some of us realize it, he is giving us a bad reputation for one that we as a group have worked so hard to achieve. Its so sad to me that one rotten member can ruin the whole thing for the rest of us!

I'd let it go, if he keeps breaking laws as was alleged, he'll get caught just a matter of time. besides he's not a very active member of NAM. Its not worth it IMO to start breaking NAM's guidelines and lose NAM membership over. Think its about time for me to jion the silent group. Drive Safe.

Well, here are my 2 cents worth. Since the offending person barely ever posts here, being banned from NAM really would not have been a penalty. Plus Mark or any other moderator really did not see the offenses apparently.
People at the Dragon who saw the offenses should have approached him about it and told him calmly that these type of actions are not appreciated and extremely dangerous.

I'm sorry but thats "Bollocks"
The Stupid Idiot crossing double yellows and on corners. That bad enough on "Normal" roads. Doing this on the Dragon is suicidal
He should not be "Harassed" Ohh no!!! He should be taken to the top of a bell tower and ..............
I'm am an easy going person and there are very few people i do not like and he is one of them.
After what he was doing/harassing Chad D/T "ah forget about modin' his MINI do mine do mine" all day pretty much rude and obnoxious in M7 tent pushing in front of people......

Okay guys, i don't want to sound like "King Sh%t" but the thread is locked for a reason, because of broken rules and crossing the line a little too much. I understand how everyone is fustrated by this but most of the time people are posting "fumes" and nothing that can actually resolve the problem. Until someone can come up with a realistic answer to the problem in a respectable matter than all this talk about what this person did at MOTD should lay to rest, atleast for now. Sorry to rain on your party but by going on like this will only make matters worse. I'm sure someone is going to come up with a solution to this problem.

I guess people would feel a little more personal about it if you saw a car coming at you at full speed with your wife in the car with you. But, the only thing that keeps these threads going four days is the fact that there are an extreme amount of members on this forum and many other forums that have personally saw him endangering theres or someone elses well being. For those of you that dont know everything about this topic, the same member in question drove in the same reckless manner as I am speaking of, on the previous Dragon as well! Not only that, but there has also been a member that has come foward and stated that when this lunatic was doing burnouts in front of the Recreation center and almost ran him and his family down!(Thats right! Were all the members with there children and families hang out and check out the other MINI's). So this has gone on for Two years straight, and he has been spoken to in person by a few MINI owners this year and last, and it unfortunatly has done no good for his consideration of other peoples well being. Hopefully, these responses to his recklessness will make him think alot harder about endangering my friends and family! Because if he chooses to act ridiculously next year, he is now well known to many members. I will not stand by next year, if he or any person decides to act that way! Well leave it at that...

Tho I did not personally view any of the dangerous activities of this person, I have heard enough about them from people that I know and respect to say that, in my opinion, he is not welcome at any future events that involve other members of this community. On the Friday before MOTD, I lost a beautiful young member of my family and her best friend to a horrendous car accident. Alcohol and reckless driving were the cause of this needless waste of two young lives. I came to the Dragon to enjoy the company of like-minded people who believe in spirited but safe driving. I hope to God that the actions of this individual do not result in a tragedy such as the one my family experienced last week. It is a free country and he can drive on any public roads that he wishes, but we also have the right to confront him and discourage him from performing any more such dangerous antics in our presence.

if this person isn't active on NAM..then isn't all this for naught? He should've been...um...spoken to at the Dragon, cuz now...it's all history. If he shows up next year, let's cross that bridge when we come to it.

First off, im pretty sure that most people know what exactly is going on, such as myself, so there is no need to repeat the story. Secondly, i respect your comments and i stand by them. I honestly think that most people, such as yourself, have made a point already but if this is such a big problem, then why cant anyone come up with a salution and even if you did then why aren't you mentioning it DIRECTLY to our superiors?

All points taken ,although not All understood completely.I know that Mark is having a little well deserved R&R somewhere . So maybe He will take a peek at all the threads that have taken place in regards to this matter and pass on his feelings and oppinion. Maybe make this sort of behavior a exceptional circumstance and ban the PASS *** .As stated though probably would make no differance to the PASS *** ,but sure would make a statement to the comunity IMHO.

I will not be quite in this matter, its far far to serious to sweep under the carpet . I owe it really not only to my own MINI Family but to my fellow MINIACS .I will let it take it`s course for now and see what further transpires .

Harrassment was mentioned and none as far as I am concerned will ever take place .

BTW my son has made direct contact with the PASS *** and has received replies. the way the replies read to me , is this moron has no clue that he really did anything wrong infact quoting NAM rules etc back to my boy. to try to justify his actions .Sad real sad .

The story will continue .

All is on record though.
