If that were the case, "the other guy" would've had four photographs in the calendar.

There are 21,000 members in the history of NAM.

Not sure how many submitted photos for the calendar, but I'd wager a guess it was on the order of a couple hundred.

Your chances are substantially better if you enter the contest than if you don't. Other than that, there isn't a theme, so what it takes is having a good MINI related picture that Mark winds up selecting.

The monthly photo contests are independent of the calendar. They are done to encourage members to get out and shoot something new each month that is MINI related. We do this to encourage year round MINI photography (this month's topic is Winter Motoring). While the contests do not lead to inclusion into the calendar directly, members are welcome to submit any MINI photos they have taken into the calendar contest.

You're welcome to make the picture selections any way you want when you host your calendar contest and put your money up front to pay for the publication.

All of the photos were shown from all 11 photographers prior to the point people were asked to order the calendar. If you don't like the way the calendar selections are done, no one is forcing you to buy it.

...well, not if my earlier idea was also adopted - about limiting the contest to one win per photographer per year....

Ok, now I see. ...but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of members voting for the photos to go into the calendar! (as long as voting is able to be limited to one vote per member/month) It would also seem to give the monthly photo contest more purpose. But that's just me.

Hey, Got my calendar. I think it's great. As a graphic designer and photographer I can appreciate the work that goes into this sort of thing on both sides of the project.

I can also understand the logistical nightmare some sort of public vote would create. Mike's the publisher, until he hires someone else, he's the photo editor.

I have no reason to criticize the calander or anything esle related to NAM.

My only comment is that as I read through this thread I find it odd that this is a feedback thread and yet when sndwave posts an opinion, sndwave is then told to put up or shut up. You may not like or agree with sndwave but feedback was requested.

I personally don't think that voting on a set of images, or using images chosen through picture of the month is the best way to choose images for a calendar... A good calendar also has a good balance of images that you can't really get unless you have one person carefully choosing the images that are to go together. I thought the calendar had a really good balance in the photos chosen.

Disclaimer: One of my photos is in the calendar.

I just received mine too, and so quickly.
I like the small size, for my small office. Well done!

I've had my calendar for some time - awesome!

Where do you get them done? I like that you can add the MINI facts.

To date I've designed myself and had them printed in Denver. Thanks for the compliments!
