I made the mistake about a week ago of going to another MINI forum. and in one week of reading what is said I have to say 'MCO is way better' ... I read threads where people were cussing and calling each other names just because they thought a certain way - - and none of it was life and death stuff - if you know what I mean! There were moderators making posts and deleteing posts. There were some high school age kids posting unbelieveable things! and then when people would comment on the cost of things or the safety or really any comment at all would have them saying "I'm 16 years old so I don't care xxxx " ...

and I felt like Dorothy --- There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's ....

So thanks MCO for being a great group of people! Everyone one here seems to be civil and adult! I'm no prude but that place shocked me!!

MOTOR ON, FINE PEOPLE ! ! !

I agree whole heartedly with you. MCO is a very classy, professionaly, knowledgeable, and homey site. The MCO moderators have been able to create an 'air' of tolerance, debate, and passing on of information that entices all of us to share 'whatever.' I haven't gone gone a day, since I ordered my MCS, without viewing this site. Thanks....moderators!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're forgiven

Actually this community has a lot to be proud of. There is a really nice vibe on the site, despite now having 5000+ members. That sense of pride is obvious. The reason you don't see that much moderation on the site is that there is also a very evident sense of responsibility by all of the members to preserve the truly neat atmosphere here. These efforts are appreciated.

Besides the moderators (who do a great job), I have to give props to the MCO Pulse. What a great idea! With one click, you see what's being talked about. It makes it really easy to pop in and out with ease.

Yes! Thanks to all the cool-headed moderators! Their exquisitely light touch is SO appreciated....one of the other sites has SUCH a finger-wagging vibe...ugh!

Cheers!

Moderators ? I didn't know this site had any Moderators!!

I'm just kidding, but I have to admit I have not seen one Moderator have to post for anyone to watch what they are doing here! At the other forum I found many many moderator posts ! I was afraid to post anything for fear of starting a range war because I used the wrong wording for what I wanted to say! I read where They jumped some poor person's case just for asking their question! - told them right off that it was stupid and that any normal person didn't need another person's advise on such a thing! to just decide for themselves and what others thought shouldn't matter - wow! Who in the world is that hard core? Then another where they discussed your insurance going up and they all started screaming at each other because rates go down after someone is over 25 years old and how they were 16 years old and happy their parents were paying $1000 per month for their insurance and for the old people to butt out and on and on... I sort of freaked out !

OK OK OK I love this site!

Thanks Dave in Denver for forgiving me for straying away! I have to admit the atmosphere here is upbeat and approachable and forgiving of anyone being a human! Here I can tell when someone is joking around and I can tell when someone is concerned about a problem they are having with their car. and No one answers a concerned person with some flip snipe or humor answer!!

Thanks for being this great community!

I've been on three MINI boards and have to agree that MCO is by far the best.

The people, the information and by far the most fun.

Way to go MCO and all of you that make it so great.

Werd to that!

I love MCO and it is truly a haven for us soon-to-be owners/owners/enthusiasts. MCO does not discriminate! It's kept me sane waiting on my MINI and I promise not to stray even after I get my baby - still trying to think of a name for my IB/W Sport.... I thought picking out the color was a bad deal.

yes, to name the car is quite hard....
is it Lucy, as in the Sky with Diamonds, or McGill, who calls herself 'Lill but everone calls her Nancy... or how about Maxwell, silver hammer - or just Sgt Pepper, because he started the Lonely Hearts Club Band...

Or do we skip 15 years and name the baby... Roxanne ... as the Police sang it?

I totally agree... choosing the options is not as hard as choosing the name...
