Help!

I have a '06 mini s. Out of nowhere, the clutch began slipping. It quickly became where if I accelerated at all, the clutch would slip. I can let it idle while in gear moving and it will jave pull. Step on the gas, clutch slips. As easiest and cheapest, I have already put in new gear oil. Is there a place that requires fluid for the clutch? Is there an adjustable cable for the clutch? My mechanic friend says bevause it will let you shift in and out while moving, it isn't the clutch! Ideas, comments?
