Now going to go figure the sig photo thing

- get you picture hosted on the internet. If your picture was in the old NAM gallery follow my link and get the image properties (next step).
- right mouse button click on the image and select properties
- copy the image URL http:// .....
- Go to your UserCP
- click edit signature
- click on this button
- paste the URL from the picture into the pop-up window.
- save signature
Read the site guidelines. There are two section relevant to signatures, how they can be used, and image size constrants.

I'm going to assume you have a PC and not a Mac (no slight intended to any mac users, just playing the odds here).
Find a program called Paint. It's usually in the Accessories folder of your program manager.
Open Paint.
Open the image you want to edit in Paint.
now from the top list of options select: Image
Then: stretch skew
Now what you need to do is enter a % reduction to the original size of the image to make it the size of the image you want. For instance, if the image is 1200 pixels wide and you want it to be 600 pixels wide, enter 50%.
Now once your image is resized, save the image (use "Save As" and give it another file name, so your high res image is still there).
Now, upload your resized image.

<--- see that smilie. I want you to find the properties along with me.Put your cursor over the image. Click on the right mouse button. Select Properties.
You should see this: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...milies/eek.gif Edit: your image url won't have ...... in the middle of it, you should see the full thing the http://www. and the northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif part
That's the URL for the image.
You can only get the URL if you picture is hosted on the internet. It won't show up if it's still on your hard drive.
Does that help in terms of what you're looking for?

I'm having issues too but mine is just wierd. I have always hosted my sig picture on Roadfly. I've checked the pixel size (right click - then click on properties) and it's fine. I copy the URL and copy it into the image box as we've been told to do. I save the signature and sometimes it's there and sometimes not. I don't get it.
Let's see if it's there now....

Finally got it!!
It took me several tries but finally got it done. There are surely different methods but finally got a URL for my pics. I run Windows XP and have Yahoo as a home page. Using the provided photo album feature at Yahoo I uploaded the saved images from "My Documents" for instance.
I did have to resize the images and used Microsoft Picture it 7.0 Once it was uploaded I viewed the properties of the image. Here I finally found a URL address to "copy and paste" in edit signature.
Perhaps others may use a homepage that has a personal photo album and this may work for a solution.

First, find a place to host the pic (I have mine on roadfly). Dont host it on a site such as Geocities, tripod, etc. They dont allow cross-linking of images.
Go to the User CP, then in the Control Panel, pick 'edit signature'.
To add a picture, click on the
button, then enter the URL of the sig pic.
Finish up adding any other text, etc. You can move the pic around, add text formatting, etc, much like a standard posting.
Some have posted their signature pic in the NAM galleries if they have no other place to host a picture, or if their host returns a red X.
