Turn off FS threads!

Is there a way to remove the For Sale threads in the New Posts query? Some of our users are massive bump freaks and it is annoying to have to try and sift through the posts. Please FIX THIS!!!

I agree completely. They serve a purpose, but it would be nice to turn them off if not looking for anything.

If you use the NAM Live go to the top right where it says "Customize your NAMLive settings! Click here" and the link on here, will let you select what you do and do not want to monitor and it's very easy to tailor it to remove the market as well as other generations or clubs so you can make the subjects very pertinent to you.

If you're using the New Posts feed, I'm researching for a way to do it, but I don't have a solution yet.

If you can do it, is there any way to keep the initial post but not the bumps ? I like to peruse them when I'm viewing "New Posts". But I don't need to keep seeing the bumps, of course.

That would be fine, but some of these guys are selling all the parts separately from a car and bumping each thread. I had a page of only FS threads this morning and it sucks to try and sift through them.

Also, those of us that have a couple of items on the Marketplace but refrain from post-whoring them quickly find our offerings buried several pages deep in the listing.

Yeah, the system is a bit broken. We don't have them showing on another site that I admin. It clutters things up and just isn't fair to others like you pointed out.

+1. Is there a way for the marketplace forum to be sorted by thread creation date rather than most recent post?

I'm joining the growing masses in expressing the opinion that the system is broken. It was bad enough when NAM members were continually bumping their threads -- now I see we have vendors doing the same thing. It's turning into a free-for-all.

+1, this is exactly the problem. I'm glad to see initial posts from the marketplace under the New Posts heading, but there are users selling dozens of parts under individual listings and bumping the sh** out of them every few days. I don't want to sift through an entire PAGE of "bump." posts to find a new thread or post I might actually want to see.

Maybe there should be a limit on how many ads you can run in the marketplace at once to restrict this behavior. I see no reason why a single "Part Out: Following Items For Sale!" under a single post in the correct section (R53, whatever.) would be less effective for buyers or sellers.

Are you guys on many other forums?? Go to bimmerforums and be a "todays post surfer"... the threads that go through here in a day, are about 2 hours of posts on there... this forum, really isn't that bad..

Yes, I am on other forums. Just because other places are "worse" doesn't mean NAM shouldn't improve where it can.

"You think moderation on Forum X is too lax? Have you been to 4chan /b/?"

It must be against site rules to just "bump" and not add anything to the conversation....

I am tired of looking for things that turn out to be sold. Thay annoys me more then a bump. There should be a way to delete the post after they have been sold. If there is already a way it is not being used. How about after so many days (60) they disappear.

If you notice there is the old" market" link at the top of the page i believe ads there expire/disappear after 45 days? As for the" marketplace" ads would clean up nicely if they could disappear.. I agree... I have some feeling my for sale ad will be there for 2 or three years... Im going on 6 months since first post atleast....
