ADS lock up my computer!
The Classic Auto Campus ad has been running on the site for more than a year and this is the first type of issue I've heard relative to our ads. The ad system does not create a new window unless you click on it and only then does it take you to that vendors landing page....it should not start launching other banner ads or windows.
I suspect the problem you are seeing is to spyware that you have picked up somehow on your machine in your travels around the net. To check this I recommend downloading a copy of Spybot. Once downloaded install the copy and launch the application. Next run the "Search and Destroy" option. It should find a lot of spyware related programs on your machine given the problem you describe. After it has destroyed them be sure to run "Immunize" to protect your system. Going forward you may want to run this from time to time as spyware seems to have the habit of coming back.
Hope this helps

Mark,
I have commented to you long ago about the Classic Auto Campus logo.
For whatever reason the animation on their ad causes MSIE to go ballastic. On my 2.4GHz running WinXP and MSIE 6.0, if I call up the task manager on the sponsor directory I get a nice 99% idle, unless I scroll so that the blue Classic banner is on screen - then MSIE takes 99% and the machine gets sluggish.
No idea what bug in MSIE the animation is tripping, but it is definitely there on some PCs ...
