What happened to the "Vendor Announcement" section? Is it gone? This was a great forum...it helped members gather support for group buys and to find the latest their favcorite vendor had to offer. Anyone know what happened?? Moderators??? Thanks......

I had made some changes to the forum that accidently took it out of the drop down list. It has been restored in the list.

I was also experimenting with the behavior of the forum in allowing members to post follow-ups to a vendor announcement. Unfortunately, this resulted in a lot of discussion that really took the "announcement" aspect away from its original intent. Given this problem I've reverted it back to its original purpose which was to provide a means for a vendor to provide a news release of some sort (new products, new pricing, sales, etc.).

In the past we've allowed vendors to post directly to the other forums on the site when they want to create discussion around their products/announcements. I'd like to get some feedback on whether members felt that continuing to allow them to post in these forums creates problems or whether a forum just for vendor discussions should be implemented.
