Has anyone tried to post a reply on the Vendor Announcement site recently? It seems that only a moderator or vendor can reply on that site. If this is so, then we will no longer be able to have direct contact with a vendor re: that particulr item or worse yet......unble to set up group buys. Anyone have any info on this????

I just tried posting and got the following message:

"Only forum administrators and moderators are allowed to post in this forum"

So it looks like we are indeed locked out.

As most all Vendors have their own websites, we can always contact them with our comments, group buy requests, etc.
If we could do it via NAM it would probably turn into a Vendor Bashing Forum and, we just don't need that here.

The idea is that vendors announce on the announcement forum,
and the vendor or someone else starts a discussion in the
appropriate discussion forum.

Thread Moved to Site Feedback

Trippy sums up the intent of the site feedback forum pretty well. There was also an issue with having replies by members causing announcements to stay on the front page of name longer than the 1 week they are suppose to be displayed for.

The intent of the Vendor Announcements forum is for vendors to announce new products, sales, etc. A few weeks ago I experimented with allowing members to post replies to these announcements. What I found is that the replies were artificially keeping the announcement active for a period longer than was intended (after 7 days the announcement should not be displayed on the home page). With this in mind I pulled the ability to post follow ups from the Annoucements area.

While I'm exploring other ways to do this vendors should feel free to create a discussion thread in the appropriate forum if they desire feedback.

Thanks and have a good weekend!

Mark
