Market Place. Why do 0 Post new members get to post a sale?

"Good luck butthole..." Is the response I get when a new person joins NAM to only sell his car and doesn't like my offer and reason for my offer!

Why does NAM allow people to join NAM with 0 posts to the community and just sell their car!?!?

"Pepper White JCW" Watch out for this nice guy!

Does anyone have a reason why there is no min. number of posts before someone can sell on NAM?

Everyone starts at 0.
Where else do you want them to start from.

some forums impose a minimum number of posts.

It's good and bad. Good it makes you contribute or post. Also keeps scammers or one time sellers from trying to make a quick buck.

Bad is in sometimes they just ***** threads.

I think MINI2 or TotalMINI wants 5 posts before you can sell something

FWIW I think having a minimum number of posts to sell in the marketplace is a good idea. Don't know what the number should be, but it should be more than a few. A photography forum I belong to sets it at 300 & they have no issues with scammer's. There have been an influx of folks with very low post counts selling parts. Lots of cars being parted out & I don't mean for mod parts. I know all MINI owners are honest & forthright folks, but the scammer's have an easy avenue here on the NAM marketplace to do their handy work.

Buyer beware....

Yes that guy has 4 million + posts. How does one do that when they joined in March 09? When you click to see all of his posts you get "sorry no matches found". I have no reason to believe this person is a scammer, but that post count & not being able to see his posts or threads is a strange one.

FWIW travelkids I think you calling him a scammer is a bit off base. He is selling a MINI. You make an offer & he takes it or not. If not then move on. Just my .02....

NAM is a welcoming community, that means we aren't going to discriminate or restrict users based on post count, you can find people on here with 10k posts of OT: Games and you can find people with 2 posts of heavy content and every combination in between. And we always have many more lurkers than posters, and that's okay; they are just as much a part of the MINI community as anyone else.

When someone has a low post count and you're talking about the transfer of money, well you certainly could figure out the users lack of post history and can factor that into your decision; nobody is making you buy any item from one particular user, it's all voluntary. If you don't want to trust someone because of feedback level or post count then move along.

You didn't get scammed, you made an offer the seller didn't like and they rejected it; yet you're out to publicly bash another user because you are unhappy. If you feel you are being attacked, report the post or private message rather than replying or flaming back. We're not here to let members disrespect other users or promote trolling; so you also earned your thread closed.

If your allegations are true and it was sent through the PM system forward me your PM or notification emails and it can be handled properly, as it would have had you just left this at a post report.
