Uneven and inconsistant moderation...
so someone who posts both here and Motoring Alliance has a car up in a poll on *** (That was "M" "/" "A" but the **** filter changed it), and gets a warning for posting another site. But then there are TONS of people with group links (like to Motoring Underground or whatever) who are left alone. I suggest that you make a policy, apply it uniformly. Picking and choosing those that you enforce against (either members or sites, doesn't really matter) just leaves the impression that a) moderation here is vendetta based b) inconsistant and c) arbitrary. None of these appearences are good for NAM.
Matt
Now this is really sad... You have "M" "/" "A" on the bad word filter? Really? Go look at Quantcast. The numbers that go to Alliance are very, very small compared to here. This just reaks of petty BS.

Wow....really?
Why would NAM be so arbitrarily vindictive to another site when both are MINI related?
How about banning MINI2 as well? MINITorque? TotalMINI?
Who (names, please?) actually makes the decisions?

Well as this has been discussed before I'll just pull of the links through a quick little use of the search function so you can see the consistency.

And a quote of discussion I've used in explaining this interpretation of the rules to members for the purpose of education...
As this has been addressed in past threads and here, and the thread has degenerated to users feeling the need to take cheap shots at the moderators instead of filling out an inquiry to participate in moderation, or even failing to provide any means of constructive contribution. I'm going to go ahead and close this thread to prevent the need for further infraction points to be handed out, which is the reason that such links were added to the censor filter, so that those that feel the need to repost the link over and over in an attempt to get a rise out of the moderation staff and infraction points for violating the guidelines; don't go getting themselves in trouble unnecessarily.
Thread closed, but my PM box is open if you'd like to have any further discussion, or related questions to be addressed, or constructive ideas.

....spamming members with competing knock-off websites that have been expressly prohibited due to the actions of their members [on NAM] and leadership are prohibited as per....
Not to mention spamming new members with links to other forums is widely considered poor netiquette.
However members are encouraged to seek out their local clubs, many of which are listed on the main forums page. And many other forums, including MINI2, MotoringUnderground, minicooperforum, miniforum are frequently linked to when doing so is of benefit to the community.

When the site was allowed to be posted without agreement, the other sites founders and user felt the need to spam the forums flaunting multiple gudielines, in attempts to drive away new users and divide the MINI community, for the founders own personal gain. The privilege was revoked because of the behavior and manner in which those members acted (blatantly violating multiple guidelines) and ruined it for everyone else creating an environment where a zero tolerance policy has been the most effective manner of handling it.
The users of Motoring Underground sought out an agreement and have maturely promoted their site without spamming the forums or attempting drive users away from NAM; and that respect for the site that they are on and using has been met with the continued allowance of links to their site to be posted here.

+1
If NAM can't handle competition, they need to go away
