This was happening yesterday, too. There's a thread in Site Feedback (which is where this one should be moved to), where Mark says he's checking out the problem.

For those that have had the web error problem can you tell me approximately what time of day you have been seeing this? Also, can you tell me what web browser you are using? Since this is a problem after submitting a post please email me your information (See my email address below).

Additionally are there other areas of the site where you've seen it be especially slow and/or see the same error?

I did find something in one of the database configurations that didn't get restored which should have provided a modest performance improvement. For added measure I also implemented caching of code late last night that appears to have made the site a little more responsive as well.

Thanks

Mark

This happened to me last night, hence the repeated post. (about 9pm).

I've noticed a slight improvement in site performance today. Lately, it has been very slow. Just today (around 1pm), I could not log on from a computer that did not have a cookie. (It just went to the infamous white screen).

It obviously has something to do with time as it worked fine earlier today, but last night after 7ish pm (east) I guess it does it. And its doing it now, 8ish pm (east) that I made this post.

But it obviously still puts it up. Same thing for editing your posts, it goes to the cant display but it still works (<edited 2x).

Blk_MCS,
Would you happen to have a AOL or Yahoo Instant Messager account? If so, please email me your account name as I'd like to chat with you off-line to see if I can best diagnose what you are seeing. Thanks!

Everyone,
I've continued to see sporadic reports of this problem but have been unable to reproduce the issue on any of my machines or machines of friends. The only psuedo similarity that I've found seems that some users are using Windows XP (Pro) and IE. If you have seen or are currently experiencing this problem can you provide the following information:

- what operating system and browser you are using
- what time of day you have seen or are seeing the probelm
- the forum you are trying to post to
- are you editing a post or making a new post

Thanks for your assistance in tracking down this odd problem.

Mark

Okay, it's happening in every forum. I'm willing to bet this post get's put in twice and I'm not going to edit it to prove my point.

This is VERY strange. Anyone with a Mac using IE, Mozilla, or Safari experiencing a similar problem? (Just trying to rule out a platform dependency).

Thanks

Mark
