R50/53 I think I have gotten scammed but I was wrong
yeah check on your paypal and see if its pending, then id call paypal and let them know asap, tell them that the company canceled your order with out reason and id suggest printing the page that says it was failed, paypal should get your money back
did you <gasp> call Coopersport?
don't know about you, but when a vendor shows signs of major :failboat: like that, I make sure they know my name and that it would behoove them to take care of me.

You should be on the phone with Pay Pal which has been noted several times already in this thread.
Pay Pal guarantees this sort of thing does not happen. If you do not get a response from the company, Pay Pal will make sure you get your money back.

Just a little tip about what may have happened. On some shopping sites that don't use the integrated version of PayPal processing on their site--you place your order--it sends you to PayPal for payment...you MUST click the return link at PayPal to return to the shopping site.
What happens when you do that is the site receives confirmation that the PayPal money was sent and marks the order as paid. If you don't click the Return link, the order goes into an unpaid status limbo, and in some cases after 24 hours is marked as Cancelled.
Why? Look at it from the retailers point of view. When you've got a couple of dozen orders to process every day, you don't want to process bogus or unpaid for orders. I always get a bunch of "test orders" where people place an order then cancel it. They want to try out different shipping rates, bundles, etc.. I immediately look for the payment status on each invoice. If it's unpaid for, I check my PayPal account, and if I see payment there, I manually go into the order (confirm it/finalize it), otherwise the cancelled order is held for 30 days before being permanently deleted. In rare cases, I've had a person place an order, it got cancelled, and they called me later to tell me they had some ordering problems. With that I can re enable the order with them having to do it all over again.
No need to panic about your order or think anything is a scam. Coopersport is legit.

IMO, it should not have been this hard, or taken this long for the person to get in contact with the vendor.
that there is no excuse for.
My clients can get me 24-7.
I am a smaller company, yes, but if they are bigger, they should have a bigger, better phone/internet set up then.
again my 0.02 worth
thanks for all the reply. i would like to just deleate this message and will keep posting in the coopersport update thread. i agree it should not have taken this long. also i did the whole link from paypal to the vendor ( not the first time i have ordered parts with paypal ) but again...they assure me it was a glitch and will post a full update on the other thread...anyone want to help close this whole posting down?
lol......man i wasnt trying to start a debate just inform people to be careful when dealing with them. customer service for me so far has not been all that good, regardless of if it was a computer glitch or snafoo or aliens from another planet messing with the mojo flow of things

It's true it shouldn't have been that hard, but I disagree that there is no excuse for it. There are all kinds of reasons--last week was a holiday--maybe they took an extended vacation. Who really knows?
Also while clients might get you 24/7 unfortunately many companies still do business the old way. One of my suppliers has a cell phone that gets shut off at 5pm on Friday and stays off until Monday. She doesn't reply to emails or phone messages over the weekend. When they do receive an email, it takes a week for them to respond. Getting any action takes weeks! It's extremely painful to do business with them.

One time I paid ALTA, but the email they gave me I ended up missing a key stroke. It said it was pending their pickup of funds. I had to call paypal and realized it was my fault. After entering the correct email, Alta took the payment right away....Moral, Double check who you sent money too. Its worth calling Paypalas well. It was my beleif that you are insured from stuff like this (if they took your money and ran)
