The creek definitely will not come into play on this run.
The roads are awesome, from low speed twisties to moderate-speed roller coasters to high-speed s-curves (within speed limit, ofcourse).
Sorry about the pictures quality and I wish I could take more pictures but I was too busy shifting gear and control the steerling wheel.

Okay Feedback, the cherries and writing are too clever and cute!! How long did that take you to do? But you do specialize in graphics, don't you? The run looks absolutely beautiful!! Great pictures (considering you were driving too, Maxicooper!)...I can't wait. Will we be able to stop at the creek? Thanks for putting this together, Maxicooper and Feedback!

Maxicooper did all the work! I just tagged along for the fun of it! Of course, WINO makes a good model for his excellent photos!
I don't think anyone wants to go down the 1.2 miles of dirt road to see the creek.... We were feeling adventurous! We did have a good laugh when we got there and had to turn around.

You guys always seem to pick a Saturday that I have to work...
I try to do the runs on Sunday because there's a lot less traffic in the morning... Oh well, maybe the next Saturday run I won't be working...
Well, the fiancee (MiniEnglishRose on here) and I are new Mini owners and planning on joining the DCMM club...its starting to look like this may be our first event! The drive looks amazing, and the orchard will be a fun time. I hope that we have nice weather for this event, and I really look forward to meeting all of you when the time comes.

I'm not sure if you guys are planning in Catoctin Hollow Road... If you are you might want to make sure Mr. Bush is not at Camp David that weekend... If he is, that road is closed...
It's my favorite road up there but you never know when Mr. Pres. is going to be there... I've had it happen twice so I just don't plan that road in any longer...

We had that kind of experience couple of times before, this time we are ready. We've got back up routes in hand ready to go, and it's not any less fun than the main one.
The roads are so good and fun to drive, we couldn't resist.
Yup... Lot's of good roads up there... I like doing that area when I do the Gettysburg run...
Count me in. I've been running those roads through the Catoctin mountains
for the last 40 years(that shows you my age!!). In fact I was just up there
last week. They are truly great roads. If the route is not etched in stone,
a side trip up to High Rock would be fun. Just a thought.

Also, If you love wilderness and would like to spend the weekend at the park.
At Catoctin Mountain, there are cabins, lodges and also camp grounds for rent. Not a 4 stars hotel but nice and cozy.

I checked this afternoon, there are few cabins and lodges still available during the weekend.
http://www.nps.gov/cato/planyourvisi...servations.htm
The rates are: cabin sleep 4, $55 a night: Lodge sleep 8, $110 a night during the weekend and minimun of 2 night stay is required.

Btw: I have reserved one of the cabin, in case we want to hang out a little bit after the run.
