Heater Blower and blend door issue

Car: 2006 MCS, 6MT, 130k, manual hvac controls

Issue 1: If I turn the fan to the 1 position I cannot hear the fan kick in, If I turn to the 2 position, I barely hear the fan, If I turn to the 3 position it feels like it's on 1, and if I turn to the 4 position it blows like mad.

Issue 2: If I move the selector from blowing up into the windshield to down to the floor, it still blows up a lot and only a little to the floor.

There is no squeak or squeal indicative of a bad hamster wheel. I've searched but not found this specific issue mention. Maybe I've missed it?

Any thoughts?

Most of the time its the panel LEDs that burn out. 64111502214 is the part and on the back there is a cable. Make sure that cable moves and can be adjusted. My guess is the panel is bad or the cables, wire harness to it is disconnected.

All the lights illuminate. The switch appears to be lazy not opening or closing vents completely.

thanks for the diagram. I keep forgetting the reality works for mini too and not just BMW.

are there any DIY's with pics of this system that I've overlooked?

Not for the manual climate control. Thats about it, my guess is the connect as the back is not secure or one more thing the NON auto final stage / blower motor sensor. 64111499121

Yep like a good old e34 BMW final stage resistor.
