service egine light, summer blend gas maybe??
service egine light, summer blend gas maybe??
after reading the other recent SES thread, the SES light popped up yesterday on my '06 stock R50. the strange thing was it happened EXACTLY at 20000 miles on the nose. so that left me wondering. is the cause:
1 - a service light that pops up at 20k miles (i had a dodge dakota that did this at preset mileage intervals). forum searches have yielded nothing relating to a 20k service light.
2 - or, did the gas station just switch to the summer blend gas (it's that time of year in VA) and my ECU is going a bit wonky for a day or two. (i had filled up with 93 a few miles previous to the light coming on) or maybe just a bad batch of gas?
3 - some unrelated to mileage or gas, yet more serious issue, o2 sensor, etc..
haven't done a code read yet. i'll see if i can run by autozone and see what it says.
anyone else experience an SES at either 20k miles or after summer blend gas fill up?
thanks in advance!
::EDIT:: the autozone generic reader came up with P1476 code, which according to a previous post is: Leakage Diagnostic Pump Clamped Tube (M52 MY99/00: Leakage Diagnostic Pump Reed Switch Circuit). i erased the code, guess i'll see if it throws it again.
anyone have any experience with this issue?
thanks again.

just a quick update for those who are searching for P1476 engine codes. after using the OBDII reader at autozone and clearing the code, i haven't had it come back in 4 days and about 200 miles of driving.
when i have my non-runflats mounted at the dealership i'll ask them to do a scan and see if anything funky sticks out.
Fault Codes 1498 and 1476
I just did a FC read and came back with both these codes. I know what the 1476 is...seems to be something mysterious to do with clamps and leakage. I did take off my Intercooler a few weeks ago and checked for leakage around the rubber connectors...can't see or hear anything.
Does anyone know what FC1498 is though?
P.S. It's a 2006 Cooper S, automatic trans.

well, after clearing my original fault it has yet to come back.
however, i'm getting a persistent p1030 code now and the light comes on and off. probably o2 sensor/ECU software related as reported by some other NAM folks.

p0130 is your primary o2 sensor faulty. theres a bulletin for that specific code. as for p1476 i know i have fixed a couple of those but can't rememver for the life of me what it was, sorry!
