My new (to me) 2012 Mini Cooper Baker Street Edition
Hello All,
So I have had my Mini for about a month and just love it. It is the first nice car I have ever had. My whole life (I am 47) I have never been a car guy (motorbikes yeah) and just drove anything I could get cheap, hand me downs from my wife, old used Mazda 323's, Toyota Corolla, Ford Granada, and last one was a Toyoto Echo (wifes old car). Cars have just been transport for me, so when the Echo reached 500,000 kms and the clutch started to go among other things, I decided to get a nice car. My mini is the first car I actually picked out as opposed to buy a car that was in good shape from a friend or co-worker etc.. no matter what type, colour, etc.
I have always loved the new (and classic) mini's so this was the time I would get something I wanted, a fun, nice car. I am telling you, I should have done this years ago, what a difference driving is, commuting to work, shopping, its all so much fun now.
I find myself passing people now instead of just falling in line and joining the traffic line up, like every other commuter does, like I used to.
I bought it from a very reputable used dealer, it had 53,000 on it. 6 speed manual of course. Its a Baker Street trim edition, with lots of options. This is the first car I have ever owned that has power windows, and cruise and stuff.
I LOVE IT. I have washed it every week (my old cars got a yearly wash if it was lucky), I am keeping the inside clean and tidy.
It is pretty stock, I installed a stealth dashcam, and have winter tires ready to go on the car mounted on black R81 holie rims I picked up used (no steel crap winter rims for my Mini). I also put on some tire stickers on my new tires saying Bridgestone for that factory race car look. I posted a picture below and will post a pic of them on the car on the tire and wheel thread when I put them on soon.
Ok thats it, I have been reading this forum alot and watched almost every Mini video on YouTube since I got my car, and I never usually join forums, but I love my Mini so much, I want to be part of this wonderful community. BTW, I live in Ontario, Canada.
My Black mini with black wheels - it matches my Black Sportster Nightster which has black wheels - my perfect pair

Welcome, like the triple black. If you tint the windows, it will be even darker looking. Nice to see a baker street. It should have those cool seats and dash inserts.
Here are the winter Bridgstone Blizzaks ready to go on as soon as the snow hits,
Rubber permanent tire stickers for that old school factory hot wheels car look, got to make my mini stand out, and I have always liked the look of white tire letters.
When I bought my car the dealer installed cheap Sailun all season tires, they are ok for now, but this winter, when the current 6 twin spoke wheels are off the car, I am going to get BF Goodrige G-Force Comp summer tires, and I plan on putting the words BFGoodridge on them.

Great little cars that handle like on rails. I am from a biker back ground and never thought I could love a car, but these Minis sent me to my good place and right now I have six! LOL
I wish you all the best motoracer! Keep us posted on you adventures with it!
Thank you all for the reply's and warm welcome. I have to agree with mini-in-black, I do have the perfect pair....haha
Itsmewayne - Could not agree more, No car compares to my motorcycle, but my Mini comes close to giving me the driving thrill I get on two wheels, is handles so well, and I find I drive it like a teenager. I love the growl the engine makes at 3000 RPM and beyond. Mine is not an 'S' but with the sound and handling, it feels like I am going soo fast, as I pull away from the soccer mom in her minivan, I am like yeah, take that, eat my dust.
