NEW MINI GT-P Concept

Not real, but here's what I have done for the back so far. If they ever made this it would be sweet if it had the AWD Getrag system and a GT28 turbo. 300hp all wheel drive...... yes please.

I'll try and get the side and front views done ASAP!!!

Yep, but I went for dual twin exhaust outlets. I put the Challenge wing on it too. What you think?

I don't need the awd but 300 hp would be nice and I like the look I would sport it. Plus I would go broke because I would buy it too.

The photoshop is great. You done a real good job matching the colour and stuff. The Focus RS though looks quite tacky in person... bit like a cheap 'boy racer' job. Maybe try the rear bumper from a Mk6 Golf GTI. That would look better.

Here's the front

It's a bit of a mix of Duell, JCW, M7, A-workx, and OEM.

It's amazing what you spend your time doing after someone crashes into your parked Mini and you can't drive it....

Looks good. The only thing is the 2 bule parts on the front bumper kinda throw me off the drop down there under neath the lower grille. But that is just me I still think that it would be seet to see a ultra high performance MINI like this from the factory. Maybe something that JCW picks up and makes there own shop and they just outfit MINIs instead of build them at the factory. Of course that would make them about 10x more expensive but, could you imagine this with awd and about say 250 to the wheels. It would be an absolute menace on the streets.

I'm guessing that it would need airbag suspension with a sensor to clear speed bumps and steep driveways. Why can't the roads in L.A. be smooth????

Seriously I can't imagine it costing much more than a JCW.

Plastic is plastic... other than the Hood work and the wing, there isn't much more to it.

How much is an AWD system? Can't be too much or Subarus would cost more. Getrag has already made one for the R53!!!

Other than that, it's just a bigger turbo and a decent tune (or a 2L version), maybe some Recaros and an OBC/GPS display that shows more performance stuff, like the Nissan GT-R (Or at least a GPS that has working POI's)

Make it for $50,000 out the door and you'd sell a crap load.

and wife, and kids, and home and ....

Works for me... just wish Mini would do it.

When BMW first announced a factory JCW model they compared it to an M car. But what we get is the same looking car to a normal S. Why couldn't the real JCW look something like this? Something more individual with flared arches, bad *** bodykit and performance that couldn't be matched by any other MINI. I've spent a mere £500 on performance mods (ECU remap and exhaust) and the result is more power and torque than a factory JCW. Put that on top of the price of the car and I have saved over £4000 compared to buying a similar specced JCW. Sorry to go off topic. But the photoshops just show what could of, and should of been, the range topping "M" model we should have been given.

PS. Great work. Can't wait to see the side profile.

I agree, I think the JCW should be completely different bodywise. Having said that though, the JCW is no different than an M3 in the sense that an M3's body kits will all fit a regular 3 series. Other than that, it comes down to performance which is the exact same difference between a JCW and regular MCS.

I personally think that a JCW should come with a JCW ground effect kit, Recaro seats, etc, etc... I bought my JCW about as plain as it gets and until I modded it, the only difference visually looking at it was the fact that it had some emblems and bigger brakes. (unlike the M3, when you see one, you know it's not a regular 3 series)

As far as having more HP/TQ than a stock JCW, you're right, you saved thousands but what you've got with the tune is what you've got.... with a JCW the ability to increase the numbers still stands. (at least to me that's worth it)

But back to the scheduled post... like minime said, can't wait till we get to see the side profile.

Mark

PS. My numbers on my signature are low, it's been retuned since then.

I agree but it is possible with about 3k usd to make a 1 series faster then an M3 with an ECU Tune.

but it wont look like a m3. that was my point. i have a car that looks the same as a jcw, as quick as a jcw and i have an extra 4k in my pocket. i just feel the real car should look and perform like the photoshop created.

Personally, a 300hp AWD MINI that costs nearly as much as a base E90 M3 isn't nearly as interesting to me as a decontented JCW would be. Take a page from the new STi "Special Edition". It eliminates some of the creature comforts, adds stiffer suspension, and comes in $2k *cheaper* than the standard STi. I know the German marques typically charge extra for decontented cars (M3 CSL, GT3 RS, Boxter Speedster, etc.), but a guy can hope, right? :D

That said, the photoshop is really cool... The idea of a $50k MINI just isn't all that appealing to me. Not that I wouldn't WANT one, I just don't think that's how I'd spend $50k.

Until you buy a set of Brembo brakes... then you'll be in the hole.

Seriously though, you are right... we were just talking about that today. I think the least that mini should have done is only sell a JCW with a JCW bodykit. At least it was different out of the box looks-wise.
