15%
header/catback w/ stock cat
intake
JCW base map

Max gain of 27.5hp @6100 rpm

Peak gain of 21.5hp @6800 rpm

local tuner on Dynojet w/ stock R90's (heavy f$%&ers)

No torque #s were printed out but between 15-20 ft-lbs gain across the board.

Have since added cam, injectors, reflash with JCW base map, and retuned with RMW, but used a Mustang Dyno.

I will go to previous Dynojet to compare w/previous numbers.

Do you tune in Indianapolis?

And to add to that, do you do any engine work in Indy? I'm in Wisconsin, I have a stock 2006 JCW (tuned, didn't get some of the outrageous gains here, essentially 10 and 10, noticeable though), and I'm considering a 15% pulley and head/cam combo for a bit more mid-range/high range torque and HP for the track (probably next spring), while maintaining the ability to drive it around town whenever I want (which is as much as I can) and maintaining a semblance of reliability. It's a tall order, but I'm hopeful; I don't need a ton more HP (I'm at 190 as is), the car is pretty darned quick as it is. I figure getting the car around 220-230 HP and a nice bump in torque and the car (at least for what I do on the track) would be damned near perfect.

Yes we even have a dedicated dyno, took a long time to get it installed, but works great now.

Don't know the delta, as I did not dyno after major install. Brought car to Hubie a week after, and after installing 550's and getting a "ByteTronik" tune, car was completely transformed. Smoother running, improved throttle response and an increase in power according to my azz

My 2002 Cooper S has an ALTA 15%, intake, and JCW 380cc injectors. Last week at RMW it pulled:

190 hp/168 tq baseline
213 hp/178 tq tuned.

= 23hp and 10 tq gain

That gain in torque is across the whole range, most of the time gains were ~15tq!

Way,
What type of tune do you do? Since I live in Greenwood, a local tune is very attractive. No long distance driving and the ability to tweek as needed. What's the price range?

So you got 213whp with a pulley only? Interesting

Well, I had ALTA install a 15% pulley, colder plugs, and their v2 intake w/box top at AMVIV last year. Two weeks ago Minicorsa installed the 380's and I had Jan tune the car.

I was 'only' expecting 195-ish after the tune, but we were both pleasantly surprised when the baseline was pretty much there already. Jan was pretty surprised that it pulled as strong as it did. Needless to say, so was I.

edit - I should mention this was on a Dynapack dyno. I've heard various conflicting opinions on whether they read high/low and how they compare to Dynojets and Mustangs. All I know is that +23 is a good thing, and even if the #'s are off by a few percentage points, I'm happy with my car.

Very cool and it's an 02 also. That 23 hp delta is what it's all about. Doesn't matter what kind of dyno it was, just as long as it was the same dyno.

Thumper - here's mine - you have seen it but here it is again. I am pretty sure mine was tuned before I bought it and did the mods listed in this thread as it was always a strong car

We still love to drive it - every time I get behind the wheel I smile
