Drivetrain Tune for power...

Tune for power...
I was wondering what the AVERAGE gain was from those that have had a tune?? Dont even need to know what mods you are running, but that is cool..
Like.... I made 22.5 HP with tune... or I made 22.5 HP and 15 Tq with tune!! cool??
I am getting to the NEED and was wondering what the AVERAGE of all that post would be...
thanks

2003 MCS, CAI, catback, 380's, 15% pulley gained 15 HP and 6 1/2 ftlbs torque with an RMW tune.
After RMW BVH, cam, 440's, Miltek Catback ended up at 234 wHP, 177 wtq. I don't recall exactly the delta from parts and no tune to parts + tune, but i seem to recall it was in the 25 HP range. Overall i'm up 71HP and 21 tq.
Tune is well worth while, whoever you get it from. The raw numbers don't tell the whole story. For me, the improvement was in drivabilty and usable power/tq. Of course, YMMV

I hope people are looking at this and realizing the difference in mods these people have is reflecting the difference in gain. People always ask what my average gain on a tune is and there isn't an easy answer as every car I tune has different mods and therefor shows different gains.

yep, the tune really pulls mods together. I do agree though that trying to figure out the average of everyone's tunes isn't really going to be that illuminating. As you can tell, the gains from a tune are often proportional to the mods. Not to mention the fact that there seems to be a wide variance between our cars. Mine for example has always been pretty low on the torque side.
More illuminating is the area under the curve. You can see from my dyno graph how the raw numbers don't really tell you this.

That is what I thought as well. To get 20 hp & 17 ft/lbs from a tune alone is pretty good - especially considering the torque curve is ironing board flat.
I am really happy with the results. At this point, I have essentially an E46 330i output in a car that is about 700 lbs lighter; nothing like power to weight ratio....
One other mod that was made to the car before Jan's tune was the addition of 380 cc injectors.
EDIT: The 20/17 numbers were probably due to my car being BRG.... We all know that BRG cars are the stronger ones....

Yep... something magical about the BRG MCS..yes??
Still need more data.. But looks like so far.. 15-25 HP on a tune!! that rocks.. and the smoothness and strong pull is a plus!!
Any More?? Keep'em coming.
