Sorry for the delay but you can see the part number now...BKR8EIX...equivalent to Denso IK24 (two stage colder)...under $7 a piece
Thanks for the number.

I had found it and was pleasantly surprised at the better pricing.

So did you notice ANY difference, positive or negative, with two-stages-colder plugs, compared to the one-stage colder plugs?

I ask because I'm primarily wanting to go a bit further in preventing possible detonaation, assuming the performance didn't drop.

It feels very good...I've compared both 1 and 2 but found no performance differences...These NGKs seem to be more durable as they use .6 vs .4 iridium...I'm all about negating detonation and timing retard...that's why I'm injecting water/meth along with 2 stage colder plugs...

I'm almost willing to bet these came out of the car left to right. The plug closer to the intake inlet shows heavier rich load fouling than the plug farthest from the inlet.

You're right in the order laided out...but there's not much fouling if you look closely at the insulation and tip...looks ok to me...no?

I too have noticed this.

Is there a sneaky (sneaky as in inexpensive) way to reach some sort of equilibrium in afr/per cylinder?

I'm guessing not...

Not sure I'd dare to stagger the gaps per cylinder.

I'd probably be staggering after blowing a hole in something.

Yep. Fouling was a very relative term here. Higher carbon buildup density may have sounded better but "fouling" gets more attention

I agree with Sid it isn't really as much of a problem as it is a trend.
What I don't know and hope someone can answer is if there's a way to control injectors individually? I honestly can't remember if it's direct injection or not If it isn't, tuning injectors is a bit moot.

ebay

I ordered my IK24's from apwonline (seller on ebay.) I had them in 2 days from California to Norfolk, VA. Oh, and they were only $41.95 shipped.

In case anyone is interested... I also found online Mini Kingsborne Wires (in just about any color they make) for $23.95. That was at importpartsspec.com.

Hopefully they will show in the next day or so... I'm ready to pull these IK22's with 20,000 on them to see how they've held up.

I'd show you my IK22's after a bunch of hot nitrous runs, but there doesn't seem to be much left to take a picture of......just some charred stubs! Oh, and one stub soaked in oil that somehow seeped in through the dime size hole in the piston.

F15,

Cheer up old chap, my AutoZone didn't carry NGK Iridiums, so I too paid a similar price of low $40s delivered. Still it beats Denso IK prices though.

It's all good... I was totally joking with Msfitoy.

The price on the wires more than made up for what I may have overspent for plugs. Now if I can just find a screaming demon coilpack under $50, I'll be thrilled!

Looks like the guys at importpartsspec.com will get a boost in sales from that price. I just ordered a set myself!

Thos Kingsborne wires?

Just spoke with Knigsborne directly and I am not sure what this means, but they also make 7mm and 8mm wires...(same part#)
I bet those below are the 7mm jobs at that price, since Kingsborne claims that the 8mm's cost the distributors more than the $23.95! Am, always suspicous when a company does not list specs!

Again, not sure if that evenb means

Tried that at 3 different Auozones here.
This must be where the "trainees" are. They couldn't cross an IK24.....anywhere

Went to Pep Boys.

No NGKs in 8 heat range.

Since I'll have to mail order them, trying to decide whether to stay with Densos, as in IK 24.

Well, when they show I'll be sure to let you guys know. If the resistance is appropriate, will it really matter?

For the price (of NGK), I'd keep shopping around...Denso's are over priced IMO

I would then try Kragen...if they are not in stock...they will have them sent in the next day in most cases...I'M WITH YOU...DENSO'S ARE OVERPRICED. With the technology of today...both are good plugs! I do not race though and mostly street and tour driving!

Keep in mind durability...$28 FOR NGK IS CHEAP (comparitively..../4= $7 PER PLUG AND YOU SHOULD GET 20K MI EASILY FROM THEM!

Norm, I was there when Ben did the install. Impedance on the wires was higher than the Jackson wires he was taking off but consistent across wire lengths. ( I have forgotten the value)
Quality looked good too.

Long term who knows but for $24 they look like a good deal.
